On Church events drive home the reason for the season

Totally agree with you Eman. People who don't believe are missing out. The love of Christ is so overwhelming, it hard to comprehend. Keep Christ is Christmas! Don't know why people who don't believe can celebrate it without some acknowledgement of the real reason? The lost and confused but there is a savior and his birthday is coming. People get ready to celebrate the biggest birthday party ever!!! And, it doesn't matter who bashes these post. I know the truth and those people don't.

On Clerk hopes to increase voters in spring election

I do work with the elections and I have to say, there have been one or two that have been "caught" voting twice. Usually it's where they vote at the polls and then vote absentee somewhere else. Perhaps going to school or have moved. The usual excuse is, they didn't know if their absentee ballot was counted. I can assure everyone, they are counted and you will be caught. Could be a year later (unfortunately) but it does kick out of the system and charges have been brought to these people.

My dad serviced a couple of years in the Korean War with his twin brother. They were from Delavan. I never talked to him about this war. Wished I did. He passed away in 2000. He was a Marine. I proudly display his picture with his uniform in my living room.

twerp13, I think what you're referring to is the Zanadoo home. That was made of foam or something. It was circular in shape and futuristic.
On Church visioning programs put focus on faith

I noticed in the survey, the congregation was asked what they wanted from their pastor and church. I believe an important "missing" part is what can the congregation do for their pastor and church. It takes everyone working together to make things work. Bless you for continuing on, searching souls and tending to the hearts of everyone. May God bless you and your congregation and community.

I belong to a church where everyone is welcomed. You can come in jeans, torn if you must, shorts, dirty clothes, whatever you have. You are excepted just the way you are. It's the heart that needs tending to. Our church doesn't "demand" payment. You give what and when you can. Many people have been turned off by churches because of the many "rules" and I certainly understand that. But, there are churches out there that don't demand these man-made rules. There is something to be said on tithing (10%) but that's between God and you. I think it's wonderful these people are meeting and are hearing the word of God. Yes, there are Christians that drink. There's nothing wrong with that, it's the drunkenness that's wrong. I hope that this church is a success and saves souls. God Bless.
On Families debate lawsuit against Whitewater schools

My children went to Whitewater schools. One of them had problems with some hispanic kids, but I'm not one of those parents who claim my child does no wrong. It came from both sides. I didn't agree with the way the school handled some situations (Mrs. Kindwall in particular - if anyone knows her) but I certainly never considered suing the school district. Racism goes both ways. I guess I could have screamed racism when the hispanic kids got away with some of their crap. Now, not all hispanics are bad, of course but the few that are, make a bad name for many.

On Haitian earthquake - God's retribution? NO! NO! NO!

Pat Robertson is a man, not God. He is not perfect. He makes mistakes like the rest of us. He does do many good things. Let's not forget the good and focus only on the bad. No, I don't agree with the statement but what comes to my mind is perhaps this is another wake up call. Are YOU ready - in the sense of accepting Christ as your savior? One never knows when ones last day will be. A disaster of any kind can happen anytime. Don't "assume" everyone goes to heaven. There is a hell. My prayers go out to the Haiti people. We are all children of God, whether you believe in him or not. It's up to you to decide where you want to spend eternity. God gave us free will. One does not have to accept him.
