Yes, they save money from being used to house out of county and save bed space in the jail. Take into consideration though that staffing cost is usually 70% of operating something like this and they have 13 people assigned to it with probably an average of 3 off for color days so they have 10 people supervising less than 200 inmates. The main jail usually has around 500 inmates and they have 14-15 people assigned to that. I think they need to reconsider the staffing, also the inmates are suppose to pay a daily fee to be on these programs but this is not enforced so the amount of money we are being told we are saving is not as high as some think because it is spent elsewhere.
On New bus to help expand jail work program

JJackson, again you submit a post that is around 95% false information. Apparently you do not know alot about that department as partially proven by Cpt. Steebers post. I don't know maybe you get your jollies misleading the public but don't get upset when you are called on it. The trustee program is separate and the majority never even report in to the jail. The only ones that have to submit applications are ones that are in jail and want to become part of it. The inmates do not get time off of their sentence for doing it , it IS their sentence. If they fail to comply with it would be the only time they go to the jail. It has been obvious from all your current and past posts that you have been fired from or quit the department and going by what information you have it can be deduced as to when. Hannah, any inmate that is sentenced to huber does pay, I believe it is around $117.00 a week.

JJackson, The diversion program does not take place in the jail they are not even in the same building. The inmate worker program AKA:(trustees) which is in the jail has nothing to do with the diversion program. As usual with your posts about the Sheriff's Office you are wrong. Most of the people in this program do not even go to the jail. They report to it after they have been sentenced to it by the court. They stay at their own residence, work their normal jobs if they have one, and report in 1 or 2 days a week to do community service, they are not paid for this.

These seem a little low.
To get max score in the USMC physical fitness test you must get 80 sit-ups in 2 min, 20 pull ups, and run 3 miles in 18 min. At least these were a few years back.
If someone was actually trying to get into BUDS and could not meet these standards at the beginning, one would have to doubt the committment they have.

When we release people from prison early they get out and are placed on probation or parole. Ask any law enforcement officer what probation/parole means and they will tell you it is essentially a stamp that says to be returned to jail at a later time. When the P&P agent deems the person needs an attitude adjustment or has an infraction of the rules they send them back, of course not to prison but to the county jails, which are overcrowded also. We are just shifting the overcrowding to the county level instead of the state. While I agree that Sheriff Spoden will go along with anything that the Democratic Party wants, I also feel that he has done a good job in Rock County. I hope he realizes that if this goes through he might as well start the phases of the jail expansion now because we are going to need it.

Those of you that feel it's okay for these items to be openly displayed where children may be present are the very reasons why our society is going down a cesspool. That's all I have to say about that.

AMENDMENT IV
The right of the People to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularity describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.
Sounds as if the chief had reason to believe (ie.. Probable cause) that someone was looking at police records so the last part of the amendment kicks in and therefore is not violating the persons right. This will turn out to be a frivolous lawsuit and the persons and atty's can be held responsible for all costs associated with such.
