When you are done cooking on your Weber you can shut the bottom and top vents and the coals will go out. They can then be used again the next time, saving charcoal and money.
On More Janesville GM workers get jobs in Fort Wayne

Over 1200 people transfered from Janesville to Fort Wayne back in 1986 and 1987 when the plant opened. As an original transfer I join the leadership of Local 2209 in welcoming our brothers and sisters to Fort Wayne. Like Janesville, it is a great place to live and raise a family. It is also easy to find, just go to Chicago and turn left. Seriously, as a veteran of 23 years of driving back and forth, a word of warning to those of you who will be commuting - slow down and be careful on your drive. I would also advise you to avoid the morning and afternoon rush hours whenever possible.
GM is currently building pick up trucks at 3 locations. We build the regular and extended cabs and are retooling to be able to produce the 3/4 and 1 ton HD trucks here in Ft. Wayne. Flint MI builds the 4 door and regular cab 1/2 ton and HD trucks. Silao, Mexico also builds trucks, but as per the Government loan agreement GM cannot import vehicles that are also built in the US unless the US plant(s) building that product are operating at "full capacity". Those conditions, closed plants, and an uptick in demand are driving the addition of a third shift here in Ft. Wayne. We feel blessed to be working, although it is with regret in respect to our laid off co-workers at our closed sister plants in Pontiac, MI and Oshawa Ont.

theflick - Long time production workers at GM make about $25 per hour, and have since their last raise back in around 2007. It took them about 35 man hours to build that $50 K truck. Do the math, direct labor is a small portion of the sticker price. If the workers' wages really were the problem they would now be building Tahoes in Silao Mexico, not Arlington Texas.
