On Janesville city workers will receive merit pay

I sure hope I get my merit raise on my tax bill next month when it arrives. Oh wait I will!! A wheel tax, my water hike, blah blah blah. I have done an outstanding job at paying my outrageous city taxes every year and on time I think I deserve what I contribute to my pension and my privately purchased health care!

WOW and sooo many people have a dislike for Walker. This is why he is trying to stop the abuse of tax payer funded employees. I would like a Mayor and I as a tax payer do not want one single cent of my taxes to go to these bonuses. I think Eric Levitt should be welcome to pay them directly out of his savings account. Oh wait that is my tax money also.

While everyone complains about things that they have no idea what they are complaining about become educated on why dairy cows are housed and fed the way they are. Some of us spend lots of money going to school to be able to take care of these animals. If you are not educated with a degree in animal science then I suggest you have the information correct before you start complaining about how they are fed or housed.

On Foreclosure market offers home-buying opportunities

My husband and I bought a foreclosed home 8 years ago. What a fantastic deal we got :) I remember a few months back when everyone was complaining about the new city assessments. Most comments complained about all of the empty foreclosed homes in the area bringing down the property values. So now those of us who want to remedy that situation and get a great deal are suppose to feel guilty and have no morals. Get a grip on reality people, you can't have it both ways. One person's loss is always another one's gain. I am not going to feel guilty in a few months when we purchase a second foreclosed home, instead I will celebrate. I will celebrate as my monthly mortgage payment is super low and I have the extra funds to remodel and buy all new furniture for it. It sucks that people lose their homes, but I pay my monthly payments and deserve to buy whatever home I would like to purchase. I will sleep sound at night knowing that I make excellent choices for my family.Do all of you feel guilty when you use a coupon at the supermarket or by an item of clothing at Kohl's that was 80% off the original price? Yeah I did not think so.

Hmmmm Maybe the average person does not really understand the outrageous property taxes in the city of Janesville. My home is only assessed at $82,000 and my taxes were $2800.00 We are building a new home outside of the city because of this, if our new home was in this city our taxes would be almost $8000. The average $150,000 home in the city pays almost $5500 in taxes. Get a clue people. I am sure most people on here are not even home owners paying in the taxes.
