cocktail848 maybe you should have another one... when is the last time you came to Beloit? It is not a s-hole as you state. In fact this city has won awards recently (2007 National Champion - America in Bloom) and continues to revitalize the downtown and other areas. You obviously haven't been to Beloit in some time or you would know better. Keep worrying about Janesville and leave Beloit out of it. The citizens here are enjoying the fact that we continue to improve every day!

Leave it to Testeriffic to post such an obnoxious comment. Let's enjoy the fact that the food and service is excellent and be proud that this business has thrived over the years. This is something positive for Janesville and that is something to be excited about.

I am glad we have the 4k program in our district. I sent my son to the public school when he was 4 even though his daycare offered pre-school. My daughter currently is in a 4K program at a public school and then she goes to daycare afterwards. It's a great way to prepare her for Kindergarten as she's familiar with the school, the rules and what is expected of her. As a parent I would be willing to pay higher taxes for this if it's preparing them for Kindergarten and making it an easier transition. Maybe it will give some kids a better opportunity to keep up in Kindergarten and have them succeed more.

I'm not originally from Beloit/Janesville either but have lived in both. Majormojo - People in Beloit are very friendly and are constantly working towards making this city better than it is. We won the 2007 "America In Bloom" National competition. Can't be too bad of a place if judges are choosing our city over others in the United States. It's probably best you don't come down as your negative attitude will only bring others down. You can keep that mindset up there and share with your Janesville friends.

Kenbjammen, you sound as is Favre has died as do so many people. I get that this is a huge deal for Packer fans but why not be glad for him and remember what great things he's accomplished on the field with the Packers??? Be glad you got to experience watching this fantastic player before he retired.
On Obama, Chelsea to visit Beloit today

The easiest way would be to take Hwy 51 down and park at the former Beloit mall (Eclipse Center). They are shuttling people from the Eclipse Center to the college (I heard starting at 6:30). This might be your best bet for parking and if you're not familiar with Beloit it would be easy. If you don't know the old mall I can give you more specific directions.

momof5 that is very closed minded of you. It's obviously time for a major change with the State our Country is in. It shouldn't matter if you're a minority or not what should matter is your qualifications for the job, regardless of race or gender.

It's always interesting that most small minded people in this area still focuses on Beloit's bad things. Nevermind that this year Beloit is the first WI city to receive the National Award from America in Bloom. Beloit captured the top national award for cities of 25000-50000 population. This is just one example of Beloit improving its reputation and the citizens here are proud to live here and are willing to step up and continue to improve our community. I have lived in Janesville and Beloit and I'm proud to live in Beloit and send my children to Beloit schools. It would be nice if people could stop focusing on so many negative things and actually embrace each other or other cities and try to make this a better world for everyone.

Piznat, What about making people responsible for their choices to spend whatever money they have left at a casino? Alcoa is closing, Cub Foods just announced they are closing and GM is done. Why not focus on having jobs available for people in our community and all the positive aspects this casino would bring to our community instead of avoiding it so people don't make poor choices? Whether a casino is here or not people will find ways to spend their money. They can gamble money away at a friends house or buy lottery tickets like you think is another waste. Let's focus on bringing more jobs in our area and bringing money in with tourism and everything else positive this can bring to our area!
