On Orfordville continues discussions with dealer for building

Posted on January 25 at 7:33 p.m. ( Suggest removal )

Come on now, did the village win the lottery? Or have we forgotten just a couple of months ago we were talking about updates to our water treatment plant that would cost in the miiions.
All the work that was done by the Library Board and Friends of the Library is now going to be tossed to the wind. Why are we in that big of a hurry? Take a deep breath and rethink this! Remember the School District is adding more to taxes next year, also...

On Burtness considers building options

Posted on December 29 at 10:49 p.m. ( Suggest removal )

Just my comments and thoughts, I for one am against such a purchase. Our sewer tratment plant is in need of an update, at the cost of which would double our current sewer bills each quarter for years to come.
The Library has spent thousands of dollars on property, building plans and lastly I do not want the money that I personally donated to the building project now going to the village.
Burtness has plenty of property downtown, plus there is a couple of houses next to their property for sale that I am sure could be sold to Burtness and make up for needed space.
Burtness I want you to stay in Orfordville, but not at the expense of it's tax payers.
This village does not have the money.

On Bill would outlaw paying for recall signatures

I for one am collecting recall signatures and have not heard of this until Wynn has brought it up. What an idiot, people have had enough of Walker, in a vary short time. Maybe we can put Wynn out in the street in the next election.

On Meeting to discuss Parkview facility plans

Between the village taking my money to update the sewer treatment plant and the school district. What little bit of raise I would have gotten for social security. You want to spend before I even see it. And I don't even smoke or drink, good thing stables has two for one on Monday's.

On Parkview undecided on facilities plan

Such Bull that comes out of these meetings, why even bother. Everyone has their own personnel ajenda and thats the simple truth.
If all the school board members were from Newark, we'd be the Newark School District.
Look at the big picture, and get the job done..Now....

On Public hearing focused on wastewater plant

So what is it 30 or 35 years old?? At one time it was only 20 years old here a year ago.
So what ever 30,35,20 or 25. didn't anyone think that somewhere down the road we will have to update this facility so lets slowly raise the fees 10% here and there, rather than 100%. At an additional $86 a quarter or $344 per household a year. How long will it take to pay off 2.16 million. Your Killing ME!!

On Parkview School District backs away from building plans

The tax payers of the Parkview School District do not know how the budget cuts at the state level will affect their current tax base. But if we hurry maybe we can make it worse by adding on $30m for new schools. We have nice schools now that are being negelected while we argue over closing Newark.

On Parkview school residents face two referendums in April

Nowwhat, thank you for the numbers on the different sewer rates in the area. It is my understanding that Orfordville has not raised their rates on water and sewer in over 20 years. Now here is the kicker, updates are needed at the water treatment plant, which is now 20 plus years old, with estimates of 1 to 3 plus million dollars. At 3 plus million on a 20 year note payments could exceed what is currently budgeted for a whole year, for that area alone. My suggestion to all, is attend the different public meetings, ask lots of questions and get the facts. Do the math as to what you can afford and can not. Then Vote, This is America and the majority still rules.
