On Kafka leads Northwestern over Wisconsin 33-31

Northwestern game ball - goes to the Badgers Issac Anderson!
Dropped td pass.
TD called back due to motion penalty.
Big first down called back due to a hold.
Fumbled a return away.
I can't remember having a Badger player having a worse day.

On Defense turns up pressure

Was that the same team who choked so badly against the Bucs last week? Maybe a stay of execution for the Packers management and coaching staff? The D was great but same old problems on O - no protection, not getting rid of the ball too soon enough, predictable play calling and penalties, penalties, penalties, penalties, penalties, penalties.
Not quite ready to order playoff tickets, yet!

On Longtime Packers employee fired for comment

Posted on November 13 at 1:55 p.m. ( Suggest removal )

So Wood makes a comment that McSensitive Mccarthy over hears.
Wood is then fired by his direct Packer supervisor a couple of days later for making said comment.
Now McCarthy claims that HE DID NOT fire anybody.
Although HE DID NOT directly fire Wood, I believe he was absolutely RESPONSIBLE for the firing. How did Wood's supervisor hear about the comment? If McCarthy feels it was unfair for the maintenance supervisor to fire Wood, why hasn't he stood up for the guy.
McCarthy MAY NOT have directly fired Wood but he sure is responsible for it. Who is he trying to kid? Just not a very intelligent guy, apparently.

If this policy is in place for ALL employees as the Journal Sentinel article said, then how do players get off calling out their coaches in the media without any punishment? No leadership! No character!

The wheels are off the wagon in Green Bay!

And yet McCarthy's players are openly ripping coaches in the media with no punishment what so ever. It is like he is afraid of the players...but he is man enough to stand up and fire a 22 year maintenance vet WHO ACTUALLY DOES THE JOB HE IS PAID TO DO. This organization needs to clean house - NOW!

On Kampman doesn’t blame Packers

He will look good in purple next season playing with Jared Allen and his old QB. May as well go to a good team that will use his considerable pass rushing skills rather make him cover running backs and tight ends.

On McCarthy isn’t ready to panic

I am just providing a counterpoint for all the Favre fans who seem to think Favre has single handedly turned around the Viking franchise that was already a great team without him. Football is the ultimate team sport where quarterbacks get way too much credit and way too much blame for winning and losing. No question that coaching and all player performances are a factor in any game but it is hard to ignore Favre's playoff performances in the past 13 years since winning the Superbowl in '96 - 4 picks against St. Louis, 4 picks against the Vikes at home, 2 picks and a fumble against the Falcons at home, picks that iced the game for the other team against the Eagles and Giants. You can point to any number of coaching and player errors as contributing to those playoff losses but Favre did not play well either.
