On Milton officer accused of unwanted sexual contact

Let's not jump to conclusions yet. Wait until the investigation is done...if the facts support the claim, then Officer Casper will have to answer to the court system. If not, hopefully he will be able to get on with his life. And, if you are afraid of police officers, then you must have a guilty conscience. Don't classify all law enforcement officers in the same catergory. There are a lot of honorable men and women out there.
On Four clerks cited for giving alcohol to minors

Wow...I can't believe that people actually think the Sheriff's Dept would send kids into places of business to buy alcohol...and lie about their age. First of all, before you make such a comment get the facts first. These subjects are over 18 and instructed NOT to lie about their age or their birthdate if they are asked. IF they do its entrapment and it would taint the whole transaction and negate enforcement action.

Too bad there is no union for the for "Captains". These will probably be the first positions eliminated (after retirements) when the re-aligning begins next year. Its too bad the rest of the employees had to settle for 3% or less of a raise.

Wisconsin should not have a law that allows people to carry concealed weapons. It's bad enough that criminals carry them. It sure would have an impact on Law Enforcement officers. Their job is hard enough, lets not give every joe blow the right to carry a weapon...there really isn't the need, this isn't the wild west.

How do you know they didn't charge the person that provided alcohol for the 17 y/o? People are too quick to criticize without knowing the whole story.

The reality here is that one person made a choice to do something he knew was morally and ethically wrong. We may never know the "details" of what really happened. While I agree that people in certain professions should be held to a higher standard, remember this...we are all human. In the end the officer will have to pay for his mistake. He has already lost his job and his picture is in the paper, the public humiliation and prosecution has already begun. Keep in mind cameras can't be everywhere...when at work you shouldn't need a camera to make sure you maintain your morals and ethics. If you are a professional then you shouldn't put yourself in a "bad" position. There are still a lot of great people that work at the RC Jail.

This is a tragedy...it doesn't matter who you are, don't forget that we are all human. A life was lost here and a father was taken from his children. Focus on praying for his family.

Why does it matter? If the diversion program is working to relieve overcrowding in the jail, then hooray!

Is this really about posters? If it's that big of a deal then the school should limit how many posters each group can put up. I'm appalled at the comment made by C Winters and that the Gazette printed it. What I find disgusting is how people use religion, hatred, and bigotry as an excuse. We should focus on tolerance and acceptance. It is ok to be different.

Remember innocent until proven guilty. There is always more to the story than what is in print.
