On Bobblehead Giveaway II

I'm not sure I like how this is worded. Why do we have to pick Cubs loses and Brewer wins? Shenanigans! I refuse to comply...so I'll put both.
1st - Cincinnati 90-72
2nd - St. Louis 84-78
3rd - Milwaukee 82-80
4th - Pittsburg 70-92
5th - Chicago 65-97 (The 2018 WS Champions)
.
For the smell of it:
NL West Champs: Los Angeles Dodgers
NL Central Champs: Cincinnati Reds
NL East Champs: Atlanta Braves
WC 1: Washington Nationals
WC 2: San Francisco Giants
.
AL West Champs: Los Angeles Angels
AL Central Champs: Detroit Tigers
AL East Champs: Tampa Bay Rays
WC 1: Oakland A's
WC 2: Kansas City
.
WS: Tigers in 6 over the Nats

On Gallardo loses to Cards again, Brewers fall 8-0

Who is Ty Albert and what do the Angels have to do with this game/article?

I would also be happy with that...It'd be nice to see the Cardinals struggle through a few seasons too.

I hope it's not just any GM for the Cubs. I do like what Theo is doing (and not doing). I was actually pretty happy when they signed Jackson to the 4 year deal. It's not my money and 4 years isn't a life sentence (Soriano).
.
I am eager to see how Brett Jackson Jorge Soler, and Javier Baez pan out over the next few year...a lot of hype surrounding them.

Busy day for me at work yesterday. I did catch the tail end of the game on the radio...Axford may not be the problem for the Brewers...it may just be the 9th inning or later for any pitcher in a Brewer uniform.
.
Edwin Jackson may not have the career numbers to justify the contract he just received, but there may be a reason for that. Jackson has continually sacrificed his personal stats over the years to save his club's bullpen...especially when his team needs him to eat innings regardless of how hard he is getting hit. Jackson has shown flashes of greatness (2010 no hitter) and is only 29 years old.
.
The Cubs have locked him up for the next 4 years. He will be a great #2 or #3 when the Cubs begin to be relevant again (fingers crossed) in two years (there are some very good prospects in the Cubs farm system right now). I think we can all agree that the Cubs have made far worse deals than this one. In Theo we trust.

On Time for another mailbag...

Long time reader; recently non-existant poster.
.
Did the Brewers overpay for Kyle Lohse? He is 34, had career bests in literally every stat category and has been all over the board from year-to-year. He has been trending up for the last few years, but has only had 5 winning seasons dating back to 2001 and just three seasons with a sub 4.00 ERA.
.
Do you remember the last Cardinal starting pitcher that Brewers acquired (hint: it's Jeff Suppan)? He didn't turn out so well. Could this be deja vu all over again?
.
Where do you see the Brewers finishing in the NL Central this year?
.
Will I have the opportunity to win another bobble head?
.
Who will be the biggest surprise for the Crew this year?

On Janesville City Council to discuss letting dogs return to parks

Posted on March 26 at 12:23 p.m. ( Suggest removal )

Let them in the parks. We like taking our dog to both Palmer Park and the dog park off of 11. However, we aren't within walking distance of either. With 2 small children it can be an absolute hassle just to load the car up (add in a 100 pound chocolate lab and you have a gong show). I'd really prefer to visit the handful of parks that are within walking distance from our house.
.
We clean up our dog's poo (along with any other land mines that are visible) and our dog is only off his leash in parks where it is permitted. The only danger our dog poses to other people is an abundance of saliva and a wicked tail that wags ferociously at waste level (I've often thought of wearing a protective cup around him).
.
There are so many parks in Janesville that are vacant 95% of the time. Allowing pets into all of the parks year round will really only negatively effect a very small group of people that actually use the parks. Why not make a select few parks that are pet free, instead of only offering a few parks that allow pets?

On America starts filling out March Madness brackets

Posted on March 20 at 9:46 a.m. ( Suggest removal )

I personally do not think that the B1G is overrated. I think that there are actually 2 teams from the B1G that could win it all (although I have Duke picked in my bracket). I have the B1G going 18-7 in the tournament with two teams reaching the Final 4, and one of those teams in the championship. I also have all 7 B1G teams winning at least their first game.
.
With that being said, I routinely finish in the bottom 50% of all brackets filled out on ESPN. As an experiment I had my 3 year old pick his own bracket based upon the names of the mascots, numbers (their seed), and team colors. He has Zona knocking off Michigan in the championship game and #15 Pacific reaching the Elite 8. He actually has 3 #15's winning their first game. My hypothesis is that literally anyone can pick a better bracket than I can.
.
I have Duke beating Indiana 67-62 in the championship game. I also have Wisconsin making the Final 4 (pretty laughable, but not out of the question given the West is probably the easiest path to the Final 4 and that college basketball has been pretty crazy this year). I also wouldn't be surprised if UW was knocked off by Ole Miss either.

On Janesville Jets, YMCA create partnership

Posted on March 1 at 1:14 p.m. ( Suggest removal )

I can respect your stance, saxcat70.
.
However, with knowing several of the employees/volunteers at the Janesville YMCA and the amount of work that goes into that organization, I can assure you that there is no government "teat" in the picture.
.
There are some NPOs in the area that give the impression that all NPOs are suckling. That shouldn't define all NPOs, especially not our community's YMCA. .
.
Also, I was able to say "teat" one more time...well two more times now.
