On Silent killer roams Rock County

When you buy a home, there is an inspection contingency that allows you to test for radon if it is a concern to you. The Realtor should point this out to all buyers when they go through the offer.
On Lasting love: Man's passion carries him to his grave

This is a great story. I had an uncle that "rode" to the cemetary on the back of a flatbed wrecker (I hope that is what it is called). You should have seen the looks from the people who were waiting for the funeral procession to get by; which was very long. It was such a good feeling to see him take his last ride this way.
My thoughts and prayers are with the family and may this help them get through the rocky moments.
On Clear Lake neighbors dealing with rising levels months after summer's record

Septics should hold only solid material. I don't think they hold alot of water. Maybe they hold more liquid if you don't have a drain field, which they probably don't have near the water. If you pump water out of your basement, it usually is pumped into your yard. Interesting how the lake is still rising. You have to consider when these homes were built, it was based on the "old" hundred year flood plain. If you look at the old may of the lake and now look at the new flood plain map; you are going to see a big difference. Alot of the homes that were flooded this year, were right outside of the old flood plain.

ljs64: The odds of him killing someone is pretty good with his record. He could of killed someone the first time also. It is just a matter of time before he kills someone or himself and those with him. Obviously he was lucky this time that he didn't kill someone; if those people trying to turn the car over were passengers. Why were they tring to turn a vehicle back over? We have had a family member killed by a multiple offense DUI and he went to jail for awhile, but is out now doing the same thing. I wonder if they will kill someone again.

The other problem at this intersection is that people pass on the right of the vehicles trying to turn at that the intersection. When there is an extra lane on the right of the vehicle at certain intersections and they have a solid white line; you are not to pass a vehicle on the right turning. Those lanes are for turning left or right and not passing lanes. The ones with the dotted white lines are the passing lanes. This is a big problem at this intersection also. I drive to this intersection everyday during the week and it is horrible to get out when everyone is trying to get to work. I agree, something needs to get done here, but what is another thing. Does anyone remember when they put out the wreaths for each death at that intersection. It was something to see and quite the eye opener.

I wonder why they didn't have the meeting at their church? Why couldn't they have had the club meeting at the church?
On Edgerton High to drop block scheduling

As a former student of Edgerton HS, we had the 8 hour day with study halls. Depending on what days, we had two study halls. We were required to take gym all through HS, so on the days of no gym, we had study hall. We didn't have freshman in the HS either. I think this is a good thing, 88 minutes in a class was just too long. The kids didn't get anything more out of 88 minutes, than they will out of the 44. A few of the 88 minute classes became a gab session instead of studying or doing the homework that was required. I have been in those 88 minute classes and have seen it personally.

I invite everyone to come and live on Kennedy Rd. in Janesville. The smell from the dump is so bad all year around. Another thing, have you thought of the chemical plant in Milton on Vincent. You guys would be livid if you only knew what was there. If there was a serious leak, everyone in that area would be in very serious danger. I had friends and relatives that lived in that area and they were telling me about what they had to do if those alarms went off. It was a get out NOW situation there. Everyone wants new industry in town, but when they decide where they want to go, everyone says "not in my backyard are you going". If it is not in your backyard, where does it go; in someone elses backyard.
