On Hearing delayed in contract killing case

Posted on September 24 at 12:58 p.m. ( Suggest removal )

billnewbie - To carry your "logic" one step further, should we then ban cars to eradicate vehicular manslaughter? Should we ban all matches and lighters to eradicate arson? A crime is not committed every time someone drives a car or lights a match to fire up their backyard grill. Likewise, a murder is not committed every time there is adultery involved. Is adultery immoral? Yes. Do I find it personally offensive in general? You bet. But it is a hindrance of MORALS, not of LEGALITY. There is a huge difference there. If everyone committing a moral indecency (bullying, rudeness, generally acting like a jerk) were arrested, we'd all be in the slammer.

To carry it a step further, some people find divorce immoral. Does that mean that every divorced employee should resign or be fired?

Mr. Benish, thank you for all that you've done and continue to do with the GIFTS program. Is there a schedule / calendar of participating sites available for those of us who would like to contribute to the program as it moves around town?

Seriously? You want the JPD to go around town and arrest everyone who is guilty of adultery? I'd rather have them concentrating on those who are threatening murder...

proartist - Enough already !!! This isn't a political forum. It's about the generosity of a community coming together to help a group of citizens who previously had nowhere to turn.

Please spend today doing something positive.

Unbelievable !! How can anyone read this story and respond with anything but positive comments?? Zoning, shmoning. These are not the boogey men and they are not congregating at these churches with the intent of doing harm to your precious neighborhood. They are members of our city who are in need of shelter and food. And they are fortunate enough that there are kind souls in our community who are willing to volunteer their time and donate food to fulfill those needs. How could there be anything wrong with that?

Perhaps the parties who support the ideas behind the BID can donate their own funds, or come up with some fundraising activities to move forward with their agenda.

Unbelievable, people..."As Janesville Turns"....do you all really have nothing better to do than to sit & pass judgment on a man who just was threatened to be murdered? Geez.

Thanks, moe, for the link. Very informative. Another thing to consider - to whomever claims "no evidence of harm", please then explain to me why the VAERS (Vaccine Adverse Events Reporting System) exists.

I'm with you quam - the rest of you, do your homework. Read the labels and the informational handouts. Figure out what the ingredients are. "No evidence of harm has been shown"......that's an outright lie. For those of you who educate yourselves and realize that there are both PROS AND CONS, and choose to vaccinate your children anyhow, that is your choice. But don't go into it blindly - ask questions. Google "vaccine ingredients", "vaccine reactions", and the like. I'm not saying that nobody should vaccinate - I'm just saying that parents should first educate themselves regarding both sides of the issue, and then make an informed decision of their choice. Take a look at www.909shot.com before you make a decision.

Raise your glass, Professor.....

Here's to the neighbors buying heavier chains for their dogs and making sure they use them properly, here's to the slum landlords building secure fences around the yards where their renters are allowed to own vicious dogs, and here's to dog owners being responsible and not endangering the other families in their neighborhoods by letting their cuddly little "snookums" to run loose.
