On Thanksgiving dinner could cost more in Wis.

Posted on November 5 at 12:23 p.m. ( Suggest removal )

The Beloit Walmart is still considered Wisconsin. Also, the tax rates in IL are much higher than 5.5%. While it sounds like a rocking deal, between gas & IL tax, you won't come out ahead.

On Councilmen ask Janesville to get tough on snowy sidewalks

Ok, the city doesn't have to plow unless it snows more than 3 inches, but if residents don't shovel their sidewalks they get fined? Something stinks.

justsaynotomath: If you ever see me spank my child in public, just ask, I'll give you my phone to call the police. As a matter of fact, I'll dial 911 and then give you my phone.

darwin1: Lazy? Perhaps you better stick to the "to each their own". I am anything but a lazy parent and my daughter was spanked when she was younger. It did not make me feel good to spank her. BTW - spanking is NOT the same thing as hitting. If you are a parent that has never SPANKED your child and the child is well behaved good for you. Not all children are the same. My daughter does not fear me nor does she receive SPANKINGS anymore. FYI - my definition of a SPANK is A, meaning one, swat on the rear. Hmm, that is where a diaper is at so the child does not feel it nor does it hurt them. Every person has a different opinion and the above is mine!

On Lawsuit seeks to block 'In God We Trust' engraving

National motto and people want to complain about tax money being used for the engraving. These people need to get a life. Our nation was ORIGINALLY based on the pledge and "In God We Trust". If you don't like it, move to another country.

On 1 teen dead, 2 critical in Madison accident

rummagesalesrock - I'm not trying to be argumentative, but a 15 year old would only have a learners' permit and with that the only people allowed in the vehicle is an adult licensed driver. Unless I am mistaken, in WI you cannot get an actual license until you are 16. If the kid was 16 and had just received his license then it would be legal for him to have siblings in the vehicle.

On Blue Angels enlist the help of Rock County law enforcement

Mikki - They are a demonstration team, but contrary to what you believe, the pilots and ground crews do go to war. The pilots and ground crew are rotated out either every 2 or 3 years. If they are not assigned to the demonstration team, their duties are the same as any other military person of their particular rank. Some on the demonstration team have already been to Iraq. The purpose of the demonstration team is to show what the planes and pilots can do while in combat.

testerrific - you still didn't answer the question of where you went to school and had to carry bricks everyday. What I want to know is, did you have a brick factory in your backyard or did you have to detour to pick up the bricks and then walk to school?
I remember snow days and at least one day where school cancelled due to the cold.
Also, you very much contradict yourself. Commenting on how others should be decent when most of your comments are anything BUT decent.
