On Family struggles to find needed dental care

Universal health care will only make the health care we receive today, worse. Long waits for the doctors, longer than before because everyone can go for the smallest problem since the government is paying for it. Oh wait, I mean the working taxpayers will pay for it. It will not come without a pricetag. And I for one, do not want to pay that.

I pay for health insurance through my employer. I have good benefits and am happy with them. I don't run to urgent care at the drop of a hat. I also do not think it is fair that those out there that do not work, when they are perfectly able to, will keep receiving health care because everyone deserves it. They do deserve it, but they should also contribute to society and pay taxes to get it. I am sick of paying for those that will not do for themselves. Our healthcare will decline to county hospitals and doctors that don't care about the patient if we move to a national health care program. And, all the programs I have seen proposed, the cost is higher than what I pay for now and I don't pay a small cost at all.

As a hard working single mother of 1 child, I am the only person that must pay for dental care for my family. I have dental insurance, but it doesn't cover much. So, who is left holding the bag if I need help? ME. I don't feel that anyone should donate anything. No one helps me, or any other hard working person out there. I am sorry that these folks are going through this, but it is the same thing a lot of others go through and don't get any help. Dental insurance is not designed to pay for all that work anyway. You have to pay it on your own. It is designed to pay for preventative care only. Sorry if I sound insensitive, but that is the way it is.

I also do not want to see a national health care program. I would like to see everyone working and taking care of themselves. It really is not that hard to do.

lakennedy: that is exactly why you cannot blame this on parenting. He should be held responsible for what he has done. End of story.

I do hope that this couple makes a full recovery!

Cardtrader: I never said that at 18 we should stop being parents, however, we are no longer liable for their actions. Hopefully they have learned what they need to learn by that time. The parents cannot tell a child that is 19 that they cannot do something, for they are an adult. That is the point I am making. You don't know if he lived at home or on his own, he is 21, and fully responsible for his own actions. I will continue to be a parent to my child for as long as I can, but there will come a time when they will need to spread their wings and fly. I pray that I have given my child enough guidance when that time comes.

cardtrader~ that has absolutely no bearing on this. At 18, our children are adults and we are no longer responsible for the decisions they make. Hopefully, as parents, we have taught them responsibility and to not break the law. However, this young man is 21 and has been an adult for 3 years. His parents should be left out of it.

It is a cow.....a Privately Owned Cow. They can make her wear what she wants. Do you really want the city (who some think is going to be desolate because GM is leaving)to spend tax money on a cow????? ha ha ha

waterfrontdean; Must you always be so negative? This is good for the community, and I personally know some people that could use a job making $11 - $13 an hour. Sounds to me like you might be a spoiled used to be GM worker that thinks you cannot live on anything less that GM wages. Time to wake up and realize that this company is coming here and will help revitalize Janesville for the future of the city. Change is a good thing. Embrace it. I for one am happy that a "Green" company is moving in!!
