On Is .05 the way to curb drunken driving?

Posted on May 29 at 2:06 p.m. ( Suggest removal )

Simple solution to the problem...enforce the laws we already have...have police target hotspots (park across the street from bars), arrest them and then have court system both judges and sheriff that aren't pu**y's and sentence indivudals to the max letter of law that re-offend. Fill up the jails and prisons...if they fill out either expand or farm the out. Im sure Sheriff Joe Arpio would have no problem taking some our sentence individuals off our hands. Anyone can slip up and have 1...2 should be mandatory rehab (recap) along with communtiy service...anything after that jail/prison...I would say at 3 I'd be sending them to Sheriff Joe. Obviously what they've been doing hasnt been working, time to get creative.

On Can I recycle this?

I'm using my jumbo recycling can to hold all the alumn cans I've crushed...over course that will never go curbside. Everything else goes in the garbage...just like before...love that new can...disposed of all the carpet I pulled from my living room and has been a valuable asset in cleaning my garage.

On Tensions between bicyclists, drivers

Posted on May 8 at 3:30 p.m. ( Suggest removal )

The point I was making is that bike riders feel a sense of "entitlement" to the road, but arent held at the same standards as motorists... Whenever a bicycle/car accident occurs, it is the motorist that is held liable from both fault of accident and/or their insurance going up as a result of someone elses fault. If you can keep up with the flow of traffic, abide by all traffic rules, not impede traffic in anyway,im happy to share the road. If not, keep the bike on the sidewalk or trail.

Here's a few suggestions to even things out:
-Bicyclists should be ticketed for reckless driving, impeding traffic (5-10 under posted speed limit),failure to yield at both crosswalks and stop signs, improper lane changes, lack off safety equipment-mirrors/helmets/lights/reflectors/etc...and law enforcement should activily enforce these laws

-Bicyclists should be required to both register bikes at DMV and show proof of insurance...why should my insurance go up cause you cut me off thus causing damage to my car, let alone your own personal liablity

-Biyclists should be required to attend bikers safety course both learning how to ride, rules of road, etc... and be tested both on skill and rule knowledge

On Wisconsin committee to vote on junk food stamp bill

Posted on April 30 at 4:36 p.m. ( Suggest removal )

America is sadly the only country where the poorest individuals have the highest growth in obesity and obesity related diseases...So we spend taxpayer on money on foodstamps to buy junk food..with no nutritional value...then we spend taxpayer money on treating obesity, heart disease, diabetes, etc...makes sense to me.

On Wrestling those big blue trash bins

Love em...hated bagging up milk jugs and other recyclables only to have them be waiting for me when I got home as it was always the time when they collected strictly trash. Now I can simply fill up my large container, not worry about bagging up bottles, cardboard, plastic, etc... and wheel down. As for the garbage one...love that too...nothing worse than setting a full garbage bag in garage only to have one of the dogs decide to tear the bag open...or worse, have the bag get caught on something and rip while carying to the street. So thank you city of Janesville...would have been nice to use this week, but I can wait, all while filling my cans.

On Con: Scouts must defend long-held convictions

Posted on April 19 at 10:23 a.m. ( Suggest removal )

vnvet7071's comment is a reflection of liberal stereotyping...all priests and scoutmasters are molester's. The reality is that professions such as this attract individuals who will will be in close proximity to children. Of course the media exploits this labeling all...statistically teachers account for a high percentage of crimes against children...by that token we shouldnt send our kids to school for fear that something will happen to them. It's all non-sense. Heres the reality and will have future ramifications to be felt in a lot of orginizations...all to appease the liberal pc'ers. Boy Scouts really have few disqualifiers...mainly that you believe in a god, regardless of religion. The other based on personal moral and ethical beliefs as the group collective, that you could not be homosexual. Very little has changed about scouting over the last 100 years, which makes it unique...almost sacred. And now to appease a rather small portion of the population backed by the sheep of the liberal party are basically bullying a chartible originzation that has insitlled both work ethic and value system for thousands of boys...what next, girls be allowed in boy scouts...I guess by the same token, the freemasons or knights of columbus should have to allow women...or athiests into their orginzation because they are being descriminated...That also means that as a man, I should be able to go into the Curves fitness center and get my workout on-without persicution for being a male because it's technically 3 blocks closer than my gym. If you can't abide by the rules/ethics/and morals of an orginization, don't join. As a member of boy scouts, this issue is just smoke screen for real issues, just like an attack on catholic church medical facilities to madate contriception use.. People should respect the personal views of others...at same time respect the views of others be it the individaul, collective, or originzation. You dont like it, don't listen...don't join. And ironically it wasnt the scoutmaster or the catholic priest who turned out to be the "chester", it was my 6th grade math teacher...the guy that parents would have had no problem letting their children hang out with after school to trade baseball cards or work on extra credit.

On Do you fear methamphetamine?

Posted on February 20 at 12:31 p.m. ( Suggest removal )

Perscription drug use is by far the biggest fear we should be worried about. Users will eventually require $100-$300 a day to suppliment their habit forcing them to switch to Heroin...which is both a worse habit and also a solution(as natural selection forces the weaker ones to die off). Nothing worse than seeing Bob Spoden on the front of the paper smiliing saying our drug task force efforts are paying off...only to flip the page and see 5 burglaries...as if theirs a rash of people needin lawn tools and tvs to support their families...Thank God for Castle Doctrine
