On Foreign journalists focus on Janesville

Posted on November 26 at 6:35 p.m. ( Suggest removal )

If I were a company, whether foreign or US owned, I would be hard pressed to put my business in Janesville. The reason? Because it seems that alot of the locals have nothing better to say but slam the GM company and the people who work for it. Look at all the tax money that Janesville, Rock County and surrounding areas are going to lose. If locals can't support a local company, why would I want to put a business here?

On Leadership change for UAW Local 95

I am retired recently from a GM plant. I am familiar with working at the Janesville plant. But, I have to agree that in the last 15 years it seems that the Union people in the higher positions pushed their membership to go along with the "new" ideas proposed by GM. Even though membership on the floor knew the new job changes weren't good. After things were implemented on the floor, pertaining to job elimination, unsafe working conditions, etc., lo and behold these Union guys were all of a sudden taking a job with the international. They have wages of over $100,000 which is outrageous. They are in the pockets of GM and don't let anyone say different.

This course is done at the training center GM/UAW has. It's optional, not mandatory. It's like many of the other classes that are offered and have been offered in the past. GM/UAW are paying for this, not the State. So quit your whining. I have never heard of so many jealous, whiny people.

On Single family and duplex building permits sharply decline in Janesville

Posted on July 8 at 6:21 p.m. ( Suggest removal )

Zoom, I didn't mean to sound like I was condemning all the tenants living in duplexes. In fact I observed duplexes as I stated that were nicely maintained....could have been condos, I don't know. I have a family member that lives in a duplex. It's a nice one, and the landlord runs a tight ship. My family member loves that fact and that is why he has lived there for many years....with no opposite side tenant problems. As for assumptions on tenants....if people are walking in and out, whether they are driving to the duplex or walking to it, and the people amount to over several a day, I think I can make the assumption that no good is going on there. In fact, one duplex was busted earlier this year with cocaine distribution going on.
If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck.....it's a DUCK! Also, "Thank-You" for the info on the nuisance order info.

On Single family and duplex building permits sharply decline in Janesville

On a recent visit to Janesville, I was amazed at the number of duplexes intermixed with single family homes. It didn't matter what part of Janesville, it was essentially all of Janesville. Janesville is a nice community, but I would not want to live in a community where there are several single family homes and all of a sudden there is a spurt of duplexes. Some of the duplexes I observed were very nicely kept and maintained. But, there were many that had people of questionable character hanging out in front of the duplexes. This was every day (I was there for about a month). I can imagine the problem people have selling their home while next to a duplex where it looks like different people are
driving or walking to the house every hour. I
am sure the city loves the tax money the duplexes bring. What are the laws for having
rental property where police are over there on a weekly basis, pertaining to the LandLord? These trouble spots put nothing but a stain on
tax-paying, law abiding neighborhoods.
