Sannio . . . I agree. Bill Truman does a lot of good things and his focus on the neighborhood is commendable.

You mean City employees got paid for . . . for . . . for working? Oh my gosh (heh)!! What a travesty. I want a full investigation as to why these employees were compensated for doing their job!
This is news?????
On Janesville to buy tax-foreclosed properties

Check out the Wisconsin Taxpayers Alliance web page for comparison of tax levies and tax rates. Janesville has consistently been lowest or near lowest for the past 15-20 years when compared to other cities our size.

I agree taxes in general are too high. But to imply Janesville's taxes are high compared to other cities is just not truthful.

As usual, some cannot see the forest for the trees. The people complaining about spending money to raze are the same who'd complain about the condition of these houses ten years down the road if the City did nothing now.

holy c@#p . . . no posts about the city spending too much money on unnecessary flood-related expenses?

Let me be the first to say the city did an awesome job during that trying period. Our public servants came shining through.

On Janesville City Council debates when city should act to remove snow

Goodness, the carrying on here. I think Napalm hit the real nail on the head.

The snow plowing service in Janesville is very good. I've lived lots of places and comparatively, Janesville stacks up well. It's just snow. It's temporary. Adjust your speeds.
***
The annual comparisons to Beloit are way off base, too. I lived there, travel there a lot still, and it's really no different.
***
I think Janesville does a fine job.
