With budget cuts don’t count on any improvements soon. The stimulus money is for new construction, yet once again the state doesn’t put enough towards upkeep. All the County employees that have state sections are not going to mow until fall, pothole patch one day a week, trash pick one day. That’s it, call the state and complain. Our roads need more attention then 3 days a week!

You would be shocked at how many times I am working on the shoulder and people have no one next to them and there to dam lazy to move over one lane. I have people yell obstinacy’s at me, throw stuff, buzz me because they think it funny, give me the finger. We are out there trying to make the highways safer and this is the thanks we get. My hart goes out to this mans family someone lost a father, husband, son, ect. Why? Because of a cell phone or running late.

I commend the County worker who was sound asleep when he got the call to come out in the middle of the night to remove a tree. Of Corse all we do is lean on shovels all day and drink coffee. Municipal employees are always expected to do the unglorified work and never get any credit.

Have you seen the condition our roads are in? Look at the equipment we use. Our mechanics are so far behind because the trucks in our fleet are so old. This money would buy 6 new plow trucks or could be used for other equipment desperately needed for our operation.

I feel so sorry for the upcoming generations. We totally screwed the environment and now were going to leave them with this huge dept. But at least they’ll have a tunnel to bike through or perhaps live in.

I think I’ll make a suggestion to the state that we equip all our highway workers with paint ball guns so we may mark all the stupid drivers out there as a public service so that all other drivers are warned by the markings on there vehicles.

I know lets try this, every time we need to do minor maintenance like picking up trash, fixing pot holes on the shoulder or stuff like that we will shut down the whole lane of traffic. Deploy a crew with all the signing arrow boards, crash trucks, cones. Within 30 min I90 will be backed up miles. We will start this on a Friday or a holiday weekend. To pay for this we will double everyone registration fees and hire the manpower to accomplish this. Plain and simple people follow to close, drive way to fast and are consistently distracting themselves with everything under the sun but the task at hand. “DRIVING.” The law is defined as follows. When an emergence or maintenance vehicle is parked on the shoulder of the road motorist shall merge over or SLOW DOWN. Rarely do I see this people have no one next to them and still won’t move over. I guess it to much work to look in the mirror flip on a blinker and pull the wheel a little to the left.

Glad this man is gone; He was imposable to deal with. John implemented a health wellness plan that requires you to have a blood test and punishes people who are unhealthy with higher insurance costs. We have been working on 2006 wages until last month. We only have had a few meetings. He did this purposely to ware us down. We can’t strike so what recourse does he have to work with us. The karma gods are vengeful and I hope there not done with him yet.
