On With donation, folks turn purple car black and blue

Posted on October 4 at 8:58 p.m. ( Suggest removal )

This was probably a car traded in during the cash for clunkers deal. They wouldn't be able to donate it to a family in need, so they might as well have some fun with it. They're still helping out a good cause.

On Wis. lawmaker proposes newspaper tax exemption

Posted on September 29 at 4:53 p.m. ( Suggest removal )

If newspapers were the heart and soul of small towns they wouldn't need the help. Going away from printed newspapers is a trend that isn't going to stop once they stop paying taxes. How about letting the market decide what they want to purchase? People don't want newspapers, they want their news online - fast and up to date. The government wants us to conserve and "go green", so that's what people are doing.

What I don't understand is how Larson Acres is expanding their herd. Why would they do that if farmers are losing so much per cow?

On Video shows state lawmaker hitting cyclist

He did more than cheat a yellow light. If the light going the other way was green, there was no way he was passing through anythign other than a red light. I'm glad the biker wasn't hurt worse, it looks like he was hit pretty hard.

On All DMV offices closed Friday, Aug. 7

The Janesville DMV is much better now that they are done remodeling. Taking a number and having a seat is so much better than standing in line. And last time I was in they were fast (gasp!) and friendly!

On Grants dispersed to help homeless

These charities have limited resources and can not help every single person. Just like in the emergency room, those who are most critical get help first. I'd say being homeless takes priority over someone falling behind in their rent. I'm sure they have a tough time picking and choosing, but they have no other choice.

On No stimulus money for bike tunnel plan

So we have to spend $670K just so we don't lose a $235k grant? That doesn't sound like a good idea to me. It still costs the taxpayers $435k.

Profits made by insurance companies will be replaced by government waste and fraud. How will that decrease the cost of health care?

Sannio - excellent point about living naturally, I never thought of it in that way.
