On Why gun owners are running scared

Fear is the reason they need all those guns in the first place.

A person who thinks they "need" a gun, is a person I like to call, an idiot.

On Pell Lake man gets 11 years in fatal heroin overdose case

"She would have fought so hard if the tables were turned," she said of Monroe. "She would have let the whole county know that someone had done wrong and needed to be punished for it."

I understand they are hurt, but Osinski didn't hold her down and inject heroin into her arm. She knowingly took the drugs, she wanted them, she chose to be around people like him and these drugs. In the end, the act that killed her, was self inflicted.

On UAW leader says blame economy for Detroit 3 woes

Posted on November 18 at 1:58 a.m. ( Suggest removal )

Somehow I think that all of this (i.e. high oil prices) was a plan to get control back from the union. I mean, really has the oil company ever screwed auto companies the way they have for the last 7 years. They've been in bed together from the start. So they figured they would drive up gas prices, which would drive production down to the point where they could justify layoffs and plant closures. Only to open new plants with lesser paid employees.

What they didn't count on, was the whole economy going in the crapper, and now people who had financed cars all of a sudden can't pay for their cars. They didn't count on us changing our driving habits, they figured we would just put off buying a new suv.

And now as a last ditch effort the price is coming back down, but hopefully, we have learned our lesson and will continue to modify our driving habits so that this never happens again.

On Auto bailout backers offer to cut $25 billion size

Indecision is often worse than wrong action.~Henry Ford.

This is the fundamental problem with GM and what has happened. Everyone stood pat, as the world around them changed. Gas didn't suddenly spike 3 dollars over night. It was a gradual increase and GM did nothing to counteract these moves. Yes, they have the volt coming out, but who even knows if there will be a GM around for that to happen. The UAW could've helped matters had it not been so blinded by it's own agenda.

Indecision becomes decision over time. GM failed to do anything to stave off elimination and the American people made it's choice for them. We have moved on to smaller more efficient vehicles and we may never come back to SUV's for risk of driving gas prices back up.

And now they want the government to bail them out. Please, why should we give money to an industry that is obviously short sighted and irresponsible.

The Federal government should take that 700 billion and do what FDR did. Invest it in public works projects. We have roads, bridges, and other public facilities that are in dire need of upgrade/repair. These jobs will employ thousands of workers and at the same time change our landscape from the rotten facade it has slowly been allowed to become.

We want to build nations, while the land of the free erodes from the inside out.

On Former priest accused of sexual assault tells his side of story

I truly beleive that all child molesters, especially priests should be held accountable and punished to the fullest extent. What bothers me about this case, is that the "victim" only wanted money. Didn't try to file charges. You would think as a person trying to be vindicated, and have justice, you would care more about filing charges than money. I beleive some priests have hurt young children, but I think people need to realize, that anyone can say anything, with no evidence, and they are automatically considered credible because of the subject matter. Only 5% of accusations are false? Where would they get that estimate? How do they know the other 95% are completely credible, with no evidence what so ever? It's a dangerous game to ruin someones life, with what may just be a result of someone desperately needing money.

On Autism therapy providing results for local children

from the cdc:

Contact with infectious blood, semen, and other body fluids from having sex with an infected person, sharing contaminated needles to inject drugs, or from an infected mother to her newborn.

They are trying to eradicate the disease, however, I just think it's another in a long line of unnecessary injections for a brand new brain and immune system to handle.
