Parents do not get to choose their child's teacher, they my put in a request, but nothing is guaranteed. It has been that way for years.

I feel that Van Buren has been misrepresented! The teachers and the building coordinator are amazing. The teachers can only do so much.They have to work with what they are given. There are too many kids in the classroom and not enough parenting going on at home. If this situation was caused because of teachers and staff not doing their job, why is this the first year, and why is the problem only in kindergarten? I am a proud parent of 2, soon to be 3 children at Van Buren and my heart is broken that some people are trying to drag our staff and our school through the mud. Van Buren in an amazing school and these children need to be removed from the classroom so the children that are behaving can get the education they deserve! I am not saying that every child that misbehaves should be removed, however if they are not able to follow rules and directions and are a threat to other students and staff, they should be taken out of the classroom. The other children are the ones that are truly suffering. I really hope that these teachers and staff at Van Buren know that there are parents out there that support them and will stand up for and behind them. I would also like to say "Thank You" to all of those that are at Van Buren. I will always remember what you have done for my children over the years!
