"Internet safety classes teach the same" ??? With social media, all those internet safety tips seem sort of quaint. Privacy is thing of the past, and over-sharing is the norm.

Excellent observation crunch_munch. Danbury Circle residents love to fill the street so no one can walk or drive through. Perfect place to leave pumpkins, yard waste, etc. The more, the merrier.

I just returned from back-to-school night at Craig. A couple of teachers shared personal phone numbers and encouraged us to call with any questions, any time. I cannot believe how so many in this community have made teachers the enemy.
Over the past 11 years my child has been in the Janesville School District, we have encountered a couple of marginal teachers. However, those have definitely been the exception and not the rule. I have been consistently impressed with the commitment and dedication I have seen.
Let's face it, if the tables were turned, and the district found itself with buckets of extra money, I doubt they would open the contract to share the wealth. A contract is a contract.
I am a non-union public employee and recently received a pay cut myself. However, I would not complain about an increase in my taxes. Our teachers deserve more respect.

If christians believe that a display of chinese-made statues is an important reflection of their beliefs, let them have it. That's probably just the way their Jesus would have wanted it. Or, would their Jesus have wanted them to spend their time helping others in his name?
