Well Mac, I am hoping you did NOT teach at Parker when I attended. I also hope that I did NOT have you as a teacher. What a HORRIBLE role model you would have been with your beliefs. Probably better you do NOT teach anymore!!

With people like Sigma saying 100% FALSE things like "Anyone can teach if you can read," that's one of MANY reasons why our schools are in the shape they are!! Underfunded, understaffed, underappreciated, and ridiculed at EVERY turn by the most UNINFORMED members on these blogs!!

On Walker says Evers win doesn’t affect vouchers

A perfect example of an UNEDUCATED (or at least undereducated) politician (Walker) knowing NOTHING about voucher schools. Facts are that voucher schools do NOT perform better than the alleged "failing" public schools with all of the "union bosses." Again, more right-wing propaganda that does NOT exist. Good try righties, but I believe the voters are FINALLY catching on to Walker's game!! He may well win a re-election, but that does NOT mean he knows ANYTHING about education!! You have to have one yourself to have a clue!!

Maybe Wislady should sign up on the "temp" list for the 2013-14 school year? Then we could see how good (LOL) she would be in the classroom. You know, ANYONE can be a teacher, right? Instead of talking like an idiot, put your money where your big mouth is and sign up to be a substitute teacher. You want to see how easy it is to teach, try being a substitute!! The righties will not be happy until teachers are volunteers. Guess we can look forward to a Mississippi-style public education system if Wislady has her way.

I am sure this will be blamed on Obama and the higher tax rates, or Obamacare, or any number of other LIES!! Face facts Walker backers (916WI, RAF, and the rest), these policies are NOT working!! Yet Walker goes around the country promoting how he balanced a $3.6 billion deficit? WHAT? We are NOT CLOSE to balancing the budget deficit!! His destruction of collective bargaining filled some of the holes for ONE YEAR!! Now what? An $8 tax cut? Thanks!! I can go to McDonald's once a month for lunch!! What a moron!! And ALL OF YOU that voted for him 2x (hear that a lot), CONGRATULATIONS!!

And jv93 and other union bashers, when you post all of these anti-union comments on these blogs, yes, pro-union people should have the right to set the record straight. As fear points on on NUMEROUS occasions, the School District of Janesville has self-funded insurance. And over the time that they have been self-funded, the district has banked roughly $20-$30 million for their Fund 10 balance. It's interesting that members of the school board call this Fund 10 a "checking account," yet still require budget cuts when the balance is above $20 million.

Let's not forget, those of you that are in the "Real World," got SIGNIFICANT raises (or at least were eligible) when the economy was good. Remember the 90's? When the private sector created 22 million new jobs? And MANY people in the work force were getting decent raises? Well, teachers? Not so much. They traded in raises for keeping the same (very good) benefits. Like better health insurance. Well, I think 21 years of that held salaries down (you're welcome, taxpayers!), but imagine if the salaries were what an engineer made? Say $65,000 per year starting salary (not an average, but a good starting salary for some engineers) versus $28,000 to $35,000 starting for a math teacher that has the SAME course work as an engineer. Hmmm. Which job would you teacher bashers take? I know, teachers SHOULD do it because it's their calling. Well, a paycheck is good to have as well. So, how about those of you who pay so much more for your health insurance remember how much the teachers gave up to get good health care? Probably not given the negative comments on here.
