On Fewer and fewer GM workers remain in Janesville

I would hope Dohner would know how the employees feel.... he has three son's that were employed there; one has now transferred. Sad to hear of the "homeless" activity around town. I do feel people will be getting more desperate as time goes on.

Who said he was on the phone. IF you DON"T know the facts, don't comment. I am willing to bet that any of you commenting here have at least once in your life.... talked on the phone, changed the radio station, looked in the vanity mirror, sneezed (which takes closing your eyes). This is an awlful accident, look at the channel 15 site in regards to this. You will see that family members aren't placing blame, that is why they say it was an accident. This young man will have this to carry the rest of his life. Those with no compassion, I HOPE you never have an ACCIDENT!!!

The "good ol boys" in case you just moved to town.... are the one's the make/break rules as they see fit on the Fire Protection Board. ie Evan Sayre, Nancy Dickinson, Dave Viney to name a few. They are known for getting "around" things to benefit themselves and their agendas. Have you ever attended a fire district meeting? Or try and call one of these individuals on a topic regarding their post as a board member? They DON'T answer their phones, Viney has even hung up on TAXPAYERS in this district. The real issue is, what is right for one, needs to stick to all. They didn't want full-time firemen at one time, and now we have them; not to mention all the $$$$$ that was spent on that issue. They are back-stabbing, double standard individuals that need to be stopped. I have said all along the people who PAY for these services need to have a VOICE. I challenge everyone as a taxpayer of this area to call them and make your voice heard. We need to see what the protocal has been in the past for disciplining procedures.

My advice to those against the decision regarding his actions. Call Dave Viney, (he's spineless), Nancy Dickinson, Evan Sayre (he's the savior of Edgerton). Call these people and see how much satisfaction you get, it won't be much- they get on their vendettas and "save who they want' and to h*** with the others. Give them a call, make them really fulfill their obligations as members of the Fire Protection District.

I think this is all blown way out fo proportion. If YOU personally have met the guy, you'd see he's not a bad/drink sippin 24/7 kind of guy. I think we can ALL say that each and everyone of us has made a mistake we wieh we could take back. Be careful how you through stones, as one might come back at ya. :)

I think it's bad on the funds being taken, but equally so now that the parent's are bringing all the kid's into an adult conversation mix. With all going on in the economy, there are probably more people out there in "trouble" desperate. I would never tell my elementary child what went on, there are ways to be tactful and explain to these kid's in language they truly understand.

unknown, another option why don't you contact the two hometown boy's now in government; Mike Sheridan and Paul Ryan and explain your displeasure to them. And frusion, I'm glad you gave the American autoworker another chance to prove they do build great vehicles.

frusion, I know exactly what you are talking about with the paint problems in the 80's. There once was the availablity to contact a few people at the plant; I believe Quality Network Assurance they were called. We talked to them a few times on problems we were having and they directed us to get the problem resolved. Did you ever do that? I know the american auto industry is far from perfect; along with many other industries. My main concern is that if we continue to go forth as we are.... what kind of environment are we leaving for our kid's and grandkid's? Everyone needs to held accountable, same goes for the vet that obviously has issues. Maybe one reason why I have never pushed my kid's to jump when the recruiters come to school. Maybe bad on my part, and NO DISRESPECT made to any vet. But the government gets away with alot under the rug too. I can only hope that the GM employees that are nearing reitirement can get, sad for some that those last few years have to spent away from families.
