On Ice, speed and unfastened seat belt led to boy's death

Posted on January 5 at 7:04 p.m. ( Suggest removal )

"momof5" If you are really a mom of 5 maybe you could understand that it's quite possible this child unfastened his own seat belt without the parents knowledge. I doubt they buckled 3 of their children and left one unbuckled. You are without a doubt a heartless soul...I hope you never have to go through the pain of losing a child. This is an accident so leave it at that or don't post at all.

On Millions sought in death

Posted on December 17 at 2:41 p.m. ( Suggest removal )

There is always so much anger that stems from something that seems preventable...but the bottom line is, everything looks preventable after it has already happened.

No nothing will change the past and nothing will bring these two souls back to life.

What is preventable is this happening to other families. The only problem, is asking for 3 million from the cities and counties that fund the officers that are there to protect us. Taking money out of the system will not help build a better system. Only communities, people, help groups, and better resources can help prevent things such as this. I really wish people would work together to build a better system of help for each other.

This family needs to do what they need to do...I just hope that if they are awarded the money...it will go towards helping people that may be going down the same dark road as this couple.

On Janesville man pleads guilty in son's death

I can't explain the kind of rage that shutters through my body when I hear stories like this one. As a parent that has lost a child...to hear about such negligence saddens me completely.

Parenting class "what" it's a little late now, isn't it. It is sad when someone needs a class on how to be a parent. The only thing anyone needs to know about being a good parent...is love your children.

Sad...Sad...people...

On Koepp seeks to have charges dismised

Posted on November 13 at 9:40 a.m. ( Suggest removal )

There definitely is not a reason that this trailer could not have been kept in a secure location. Many years ago when a man named fuller hacked up his wife law enforcement secured his mini van inside a fenced area at the water dept.

Nobody knows whether Koepp is innocent or not but him and that is the sad truth.
Was the investigation botched...who knows...possibly. There are not many homocide cases in this area so it is difficult to have faith in the investigators skills and experience.

Bottom line there are loop holes in everything...I mean everything. Law inforcement will do what is necessary to help make the community feel safe...and the convicted will do anything to prove they are innocent and if that doesn't work then they will do anything to find mistakes in a case to get around proving their innocence or avoid being proved guilty.

What I really think is sad is media. I think that when a suspect is caught...that is all the public should know is that a suspect is caught. No names, criminal history, nothing until the case is locked in stone. Media is a huge persuader to the public eyes and ears and many times is not very reliable.

Like they say "don't believe everything you read"

On Buckling up on the bus

I really can't agree with glock myself. Look at it this way, the chances of a rollover or a traffic accident in general are far more likely to happen then a bus bursting into flames or plunging into a river or lake. We must understand that we cannot protect our children from every possible scenerio...but we can prevent injury from the more common ones. I believe seat belts in buses are a must and and should be treated the same as any automobile.

On UPDATE: Name released in motorcycle fatal crash

Posted on June 11 at 2:17 p.m. ( Suggest removal )

Personally I have no problems with/or without wearing a helmet. I know the dangers of hopping on my cycle and riding with or without a helmet. There are dangers in everything that a person does and it really isn't anybodies place to judge what or what not someone should do or have done in certain situations. Make it a law to wear a helmet sounds fine to me also. We ride, swim, drive, fly, eat, etc...all at our own risk. I just pray for the family of this man to have the strength to heal.

Depressions will come and they will pass just as they have in the past. What makes the difference is whether or not we as Americans work together or not. What happened to the protests or the parades of the 60's and 70's. Young Men and Woman are dying everyday in an endless war...and all of us here at home are drowning in debt, high taxes, low pay, and a shortage of jobs. Since when did government and politics rule this country. America is the peoples land so why don't we as a UNITED country...take this great place back. We cannot be heard unless we speech as one voice. Speak up, speak out, lets use our freedom to our advantage before it is gone...Let's bring our freedom back to what it was and what it should be.
