Thankfully, the Eggo waffle shortage won't impede the Vogel-Davis household from making its famous Belgian waffles. Now if Aunt Jemima had a shortage, that would really be a problem.

Oh my gosh, that Grover book was the best! Incidentally, is anybody else upset that Elmo usurped Grover as the coolest Muppet that refers to himself in the first person on Sesame Street?

I'm sad that Janesville doesn't have a roller skating rink because roller skating is so fun and such good exercise. But it seems to me like a lot of teenagers have switched from roller skating to ice skating. I accidentally ended up at a teen skating night at the ice rink last winter, and I was amazed at how many teens were there. They skated circles around me -- literally.

I read a book about Sesame Street a few months ago, and ever since then, I've been so nostalgic for the show. We watched You Tube clips with my husband's 2-year-old cousin recently showing Norah Jones singing "I Don't Know Why Y Didn't Come." Hilarious!
I also saw a Sesame Street version of "Mad Men" where the puppets were dressed in stylish 50s clothes and kept saying "We're mad! We're mad men!", "We're sad! We're sad men!", etc.

Great ideas! I wonder if local food pantries would like having some of the candy. I know they try to get nutritious food to the families, but maybe they'd give it to the kids as a treat.

My mom says the trees are turning early, but she says that every year. I think it's about normal. Either way, I'm loving the turning of the trees. It's such a wonderful time of year!

I love NBC Thursdays, but I usually end up watching the shows on Hulu later because I'm too busy to sit down and watch a night of TV. Don't forget "Community." That's the best new show on TV in my opinion. (Not that I've watched a lot of new shows.)
