On Janesville stores focus on customer safety

I do not shop on Black Friday. The people act like animals! No amount off is worth the people acting like it is bar time rather that sale time!

On Influential Janesville teacher dies unexpectedly

It is hard to say what you want to say. I grew up in Janesville. While growing up I wanted to work there (Mercy). Then I grew up, and worked there (not anynore). I am so glad for the new hospital that is coming. Just from what I saw while working there, and what I see as a resident of Janesville. I am glad for a choice. It is so sad when someone dies from something that should be routine. Granted, we do know that every surgery has risks. But when we see simple things like this a little too often, it is disturbing. Someone I know had a knee replacement surgery there. They were there in Mercy Manor afterwards. It bothered me that the staff would put something (pillows, knee machine, boots for the heels...) on the FLOOR when working in the room. HELLO, infection! Recent surgery, healing wound, and they put something off the floor right next to the recent surgery site? Maybe I am being too OCD, but really? Their attitude sucks also. Tired of the rude attitue I get when dealing with them. Hate to think I am in medical crisis, and they bring me there. Hope I am with it enough to say someplace else please. I don't know how it got so bad, but I would like to think people's well being would matter. Glad to see some choice available soon.

On Janesville vets bringing health care home

This is a wonderful service. My vet made a house call for me when I put my beloved dog to sleep last summer. My dog really hated going to the vet, and the thought of dragging him there, where he hated it, and then have that be his last moments was a terrible thought for me. I just happend to ask my vet if he did house calls and he said yes, but we don't "advertise" that. I was so relieved to have him come to my home. I'm glad to see more vets are willing to do the same. The little extra cost was of no matter to me, I would have paid double! Pet are special members of the family too.

Most of you have no idea what you are talking about. There are many FACTS about this that many do not know about but they will all come out in court. If you read the article dated November 2, 2008 you might know more of the families involvement, or un-involvement. Her family knew he was home with her and did NOTHING except to tell her to call them for a ride to work the next day. Why didn't her mother go and get her that very second and make her stay at her mother's home???? Why did the victim leave the gun on their property instead of getting it to a 3rd party or throwing it in the river??? She had that chance to do so and did not. There is plenty of blame to go around. Blaming the police department and Rock County is a joke. They did their jobs as far as the law would allow. People can be locked up for something they "might" do, otherwise there would be a hell of a lot of people in jail and mental institutions this very minute. It's called Civil Rights. So why don't you all who think you know everything keep it to yourself and wait and see what the FACTS are that are presented in a court of law??? Rock County and area police departments are not responsible for peoples actions, the person should be held accountable for their own actions. Big Brother can't watch everyone all the time.

On Heroin problem linked to parenting

THANK YOU THANK YOU!! Someone finally said it outloud!! Parents now days are always looking to get their kid out of trouble instead of making them face the music! Then the parents wonder why their kid is hooked on herion and expect the tax payers to pay for their treatment! Parents are angry when told by the county that funding is so limited. Parents are angry when told the county does not hand out Suboxen to every herion addict. Parents are angry when told "no" for 3rd round of in patient treatment. Parents that allow their herion addicted kid with a $100+ day habit to live in their home are enablers. The kid can't hold a job, steal from their families, and commit crimes to feed their habits. And I am so sick of hearing "it's a disease..." Bologna! The kid CHOOSE to try the drug for the first time. Knowing it is addicitive, but decided "I'm going to do what ever I want". Why should the tax payers be stuck for paying for their treatment? Morgage your homes, take out a loan and take care of the little monsters you created!!!

I agree with deborah21154. No laws on how many people you can shove into a single family house or apartment for that matter. No laws on how many children people can pop out at the tax payers expense and then not care for them properly. And someone wants to complain about well cared for animals? Really???

Im so sorry for the loss of Tammy's beloved pets and her home. I am sure she is having a very difficult and sad time in her life right now. I am glad that someone cared enough to help her cat that survived. Many people veiw their pets like children. Im sure her grief is very deep and my thoughts are with her. As long as they were all well cared for, and no neighbors complained, everyone needs to mind their own business.
