I Would Be So Proud To Be Their Mother!

By KENDRA BURNS   Wednesday, October 21, 2009 - 4:57 p.m.

I would like to write a THANK YOU to a couple of employees that work at two stores that our family frequents - Target and Wal-Mart. Unfortunately, I do not know the name of the employee at Target; but, almost every time I have shopped there, he is out in the parking lot gathering all the carts. He always asks if he can help, whether you are entering or leaving the store. He is one of the most hardworking individuals I have ever seen. Ryan is another hard-working employee who is a cashier at Wal-Mart. If he is working, I make sure that we go through his lane. He is always courteous, cheerful, and very efficient. How proud I would be to be each of these employee’s mother!

I was raised by parents that taught us at a young age that working, and working hard, is an essential part of life. I would like to think that my husband and I are slowly instilling this kind of work ethic into our daughter. We try to teach her to clear the table, put her toys away, and to pick up after ourselves. We are not perfect, but hope that as she watches us each day, whether we are heading off to work or cleaning the bathroom, she will learn the importance of hard work and self-reliance.

Happy Mothering!

Kendra

I have sent in comment cards to Target headquarters so that Dennis can be recognized for his hard work and great attitude. I recommend that you all do that same. He is the hardest working employee I have seen there and yet remains so positive and friendly! Thanks Dennis! :)

In retailing the face of the company is represented by the people serving the customer. Target couldn't have a better representative to its customers than Dennis. The energy and attention he devotes to his mission there is amazing in its consistency and strength. A great employee from a great company.

Imadozen: Unfortunately, YOU probably are one of the moms. Great example you've set.

Badgerlvr: Maybe you should tell their moms on them.

I'm glad you saw someone at Wal-Mart doing their job. While waiting for my spouse, I sat in my car the other day and watched three employees playing "kick the bottle" as if they were trying to make a field goal at Lambeau Field. This went on for over 20 minutes. They were supposed to be gathering carts. If the manager of Wal-Mart had seen them, I would hope that they'd have been reprimanded or fired.

I agree Marie! Dennis is very helpful. If he's out in the parking lot he always asks if I need a cart to put my little one in. I hope the management at Target let him know what a great job he does everyday.

Thanks for recognizing these individuals! Although I do not frequent Walmart much, Dennis, the employee at Target, definitely deserves to be commended for his energy and commitment to his job there! I bet there isn't a day that he isn't exhausted after coming home from his job, and I really appreciate all of his help when I have a baby in my arms!
