Vocab
If you’re still new to the Web, here are a few terms you may have seen or heard:
Blog: A blog is an online journal. The author posts their thoughts, observations, and whatever else they want. Each blog entry includes a title and a body. The entry may also include links to other content on the Internet. You can find our blogs here:
Comment: A comment is a short written observation made on our Web site regarding the story or blog entry above it. A comment is not a blog.
Podcast: If you read my previous blog entry regarding RSS feeds, the best explanations I can provide for a podcast is an RSS feed with audio. A podcast is a series of related audio clips you can subscribe to. For example, you can subscribe to podcasts like:
Al Fagerli’s Sports Commentaries
If you subscribe to one of these podcasts, whenever a new episode is posted to our Web site, you will automatically receive it. You can subscribe to podcasts with your RSS reader, but another popular application is I-Tunes, which will sync your podcasts onto your portable audio device.
As you might have guessed, a vodcast is the same thing, with video.
E-Edition v. E-Gazette: The E-Edition is an exact digital reproduction of your print edition. Access is limited to print subscribers.
The E-Gazette is an e-mail digest of Gazettextra.com content sent out once a day. It is free to anyone who registers on Gazettextra.com. Sign up for the E-Gazette here.
Are there any other terms you’d like me to cover?

BTW, the word "blog" is actually short for "web log", as in "a log posted on the world wide web".
But, when you say the words "web log" often enough, you eventually hear only the "blog" half of it.
So now, it's just "blog".
