My first book cover!
Okay, I need to follow up after yesterday’s somewhat complaining blog post.
The Universe, while keeping me busy, also gives me carrots. It seems that whenever I really start thinking, “There is simply NO WAY that I can juggle all this stuff and continue to write …” the Universe laughs, sends me a golden carrot, and I then continue with my crazed, packed, insane schedule for another five years.
It seems it only takes one AWESOME thing to keep me motivated for a long, long time. Guess that’s why I can be a writer. Writers need to take major note of any positive that comes their direction, because 90% is rejection and frustration (and revision!).
So, here’s my carrot -- sent on to me yesterday afternoon by my editor at Farrar, Straus & Giroux. This is my very first book cover, and I love it. The book is due out next spring and it’s for my favorite people on earth: toddlers.
Happy Reading.
