No Janesville comics left standing
Ohhhh, big sigh of disappointment.....
All together now .... (breathe in!) ... Siighhhhhh.
Janesville native Pete Lee didn't make the finals Thursday night on NBC's "Last Comic Standing."
But don't worry, it's not a career stopper for Pete.
Janesville native Andi Smith met the same fate last week on the first of two semi-final shows. She was one of the funniest on the show (in the opinion of the people on my couch), but we didn't get a vote.
Watching your favorites lose is a bummer. But it's fine, I think, for Pete and Andi. They got a ton of face time on national TV. They both said random people recognized them after the show aired.
And there's more ...
Pete called last week to say he signed a contract with Comedy Central. He'll get to do a half hour of stand-up on "Comedy Central Presents ...."
Doesn't that sound good? "Comedy Central presents Pete Lee?"
If he can crack us up that much in three minutes on Last Comic Standing, a whole half hour should be a blast.

Wicked Funny. Cool, I haven't heard the word 'wicked' as an adjective for a LONG time. Thanks for the good blast from my past!!

I was also disappointed the girl from South Milwaukee got booted last night. She was pretty funny too, and she kept talking about Wisconsin.
