John Stamos will be in Beloit Sunday

By Beth Wheelock ( Contact )   July 8, 2008 - 5:20 p.m.

John Stamos will be performing Sunday at Beloit Riverfest.

He apparently still plays drums with the Beach Boys, as he has occasionally since 1985. According to Riverfest Executive Director Rod Beaudoin, Stamos has been playing with the group since they appeared on a very special episode of Full House. Then again, what episode of Full House wasn't special??

On youtube, it appears that Stamos also recorded a music video for Full House, under the band name "Jesse and The Rippers". He's so tough.

I can't predict if more people will go to see the Beach Boys on Sunday based on their famous drummer. But I can tell you there was quite a bit of Uncle Jesse-mania on the third floor of the Bliss Communications tower once we heard the news Tuesday afternoon.

Is it fair to say that the excitement about Stamos is mostly limited to those who grew up watching Full House? Or does he have his ER fans, too?

Beth, how was John Stamos? I realized to late that it was Sunday. Actually, it was like midnight that I realized. Oops.

Hey Beth,
Now we're talking good looks for the Riverfest. I also watched him on General Hospital so that makes me about the same age as Rose I bet. 39? ha
I will be there to watch, I hope lots of people go!

I love Uncle Jesse! I admit to texting Beth as soon as I heard the "breaking news" on his appearance in Beloit. I grew up watching Full House and I still love it! Ha! Thanks Beth for the great news!

Bob Saget should be there instead of Stamos. His standup routine is hillarious! Just make sure the kids are in bed.

I think the Stamos mania is "limited" to those (thousands and thousands) of area women who can appreciate a gorgeous man!

God love ya, Beth! Full House was awesome! Yes, I am a child of the 80s (and darn well proud to be part of Generation X)!

-tsk- I dunno if I'd classify it as "mania", Beth. I mean, it's not like I screamed like a school girl and fainted or anything... at least not that *you* saw.

If ever I fawned over John Stamos, it was while he was Blackie on General Hospital.
