Rockin' downtown
I know fall is on its way when candy corn shows up in the Gazette newsroom.
But I'm excited to celebrate the last gasp of summer Sunday at Rock Around the Block.
Living downtown, I can hear the music from Rock Around the Block as soon as I step outside my apartment. The event will feature 30 bands on 10 stages and venues. A Gazette newsroom favorite, Blue Olives, is playing 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Time Out. Plus there's good food, fun activities and great people-watching.
Rock Around the Block runs from noon to 9 p.m. Sunday on Main Street. See you there!

For those who will be coming to Rock Around the Block, the Madison School PTA will be selling slushies, cotton candy, soft drinks, etc., at a booth on Main street by the children's games. If you're part of Madison's Panther Pride, or if you would love to help our PTA support Madison's students, please come partake of your refreshments at the Madison Elementary PTA booth!!! Be there or be square!

Hm, either the Blue Olives changed their playing time or there's a mistake somewhere. The full-page ad on the back of Kicks says 5:30 p.m. Guess you should check both times to be safe!

It should be noted that the candy corn was specifically intended as a prop for the newsroom's Fisher Price farm set. To be eaten, but still, just because of the farm toys.
And, yes. I will see you at Rock Around the Block!
