Brought to you by the letter S
For someone whose favorite record was "Born to Add", this is big news, indeed. I'm not only filled with memories of Mr Hooper and Ernie dancing himself to sleep, but The Ladybugs' Picnic and the Alligator King. We also have to applaud the classic 80s "Put Down the Ducky".
I can easily turn this into a blog of favorite Sesame Street moments. I mean, here's a show where Johnny Cash sings "Don't Take Your Ones to Town" and a host of early-90s B-list stars appear in Monster in the Mirror. Classic!
Aaaand...this is us at work.
Actually, as Rose pointed out, this is more like my job at WCLO. Hehehe.
What's your favorite Sesame Street moment? And can you believe the dvd of Sesame Street-Old School features a warning that it's for adults and shouldn't be used as an educational tool? Really!
If you need me, I'll be honking around the clock.

I can spend hours on YouTube watching "classic" sesame street. All of my favorite muppets are "retired" or have been changed to suit political correctness. I miss Mumford the Magician, Forgetful Jones and Buster, Prairie Dawn and her plays, Sherlock Hemlock, the Sesame Street News, and all the psychedelic 60's and 70's cartoons and shorts in between skits. I remember Mr. Hooper and his death, Maria and Luis' wedding, Gordon and Susan adopting Miles, the birth of Gabriella, Barkley and Linda, and when everyone but Big Bird thought Mr. Snuffalupagus was imaginary. Pretty much everything before that God-forsaken Elmo took over. Give me my 60's and 70's sesame street!

Oh my gosh, that Grover book was the best! Incidentally, is anybody else upset that Elmo usurped Grover as the coolest Muppet that refers to himself in the first person on Sesame Street?

I'm sentimental for the episode that handled Mr. Hooper's death (and Big Bird not understanding the permanence of it). It still makes me cry to think of it, and for the one I caught while babysitting since I was too old to watch...Maria and Luis' wedding.

The Sesame Street book "the Monster at the end of this book" starring loveable furry old Grover. It was my sons' most favorite book. It has entertained 3 generations of my family!! He also had a stuffed Cookie Monster that went everywhere with us!!

I read a book about Sesame Street a few months ago, and ever since then, I've been so nostalgic for the show. We watched You Tube clips with my husband's 2-year-old cousin recently showing Norah Jones singing "I Don't Know Why Y Didn't Come." Hilarious!
I also saw a Sesame Street version of "Mad Men" where the puppets were dressed in stylish 50s clothes and kept saying "We're mad! We're mad men!", "We're sad! We're sad men!", etc.
