Craig class of '94 reunion coming up fast
I wasn’t voted the funniest in my high school class, although I wanted to be.
That honor went to my good friend Jana “This is your captain speaking!!” (Olson) Smith.
Needless to say, I’m feeling a lot of pressure to write something funny in advance of my approaching 15-year class reunion.
The problem is, when I try to write something funny, it usually turns out as comedic as a press release about flu vaccinations.
So, I think I’ll let my Craig class of ’94 classmates help me with this one.
After all, despite the fact that many of us haven’t seen each other in years, we read about each other’s lives almost daily on Facebook. And, I’m going to assume that many of them read the Gazette blogs from time to time.
So, I can write something and be reasonably sure several of my classmates will read it.
We didn’t have blogs when we graduated from high school. We didn’t have cell phones or e-mail.
That meant that at our 5- and 10-year reunions, we had to spend the first several hours catching up … who’s working where, who has kids, etc. Now, thanks to the power of the Internets, we already know all that stuff about each other.
We can jump right into the good stuff such as … “Remember that time when …”
So, go ahead, class of ’94. Finish that sentence.
I’ll start.
Remember that time when Kristin Horabik, Kim Hester, Jana and a bunch of others got pulled over while toilet papering? They were wearing shower caps? The officer posed for a photo and let them go on their way …
Oh! And remember how Mr. Grogan used to let us take the hall pass to get doughnuts?

Enjoyed your comment about Mike Grogan. We ran four marathons together before his death. He was a special person. It was great to see his wife, Katie, in July. My wife and I think about them often.

Would have been Craig '94 but moved to Milton in 8th grade and graduated there. I might check it out down at Time Out.

Remember, in the age before texting, using our T85 graphing calculators to pass notes? I never did figure out how to find the area under a curve...
PS; Thanks AMA for doing this!

As a member of the Class of '74 (no, not 1874, and no, not in Janesville), I gotta say the two members of the Craig Class of '94 I can name are quality human beings who have weathered the bumps of life with grace. Congrats on reaching this milestone, Cougars.
