Poverty book discussions coming up

By STACY VOGEL ( Contact )   Monday, August 24, 2009 - 9:43 a.m.

Don't forget about the poverty book discussions coming up in the next few weeks around Rock County.

I wrote an article last month about the discussions of "Nickle and Dimed" by Barbara Ehrenreich and "The Glass Castle" by Jeannette Walls. Apparently word has gotten out, because when I went to the library to borrow "The Glass Castle," it was checked out with seven people on the waiting list! Luckily, I have a co-worker willing to lend me a copy.

ECHO will discuss "Nickle and Dimed" at 7 p.m. Tuesday. Not sure if I'll make that one, but if I don't, I hope to go to the Hedberg discussion Sept. 28. Click here and scroll to the bottom to get a complete schedule. Click here to read a blog entry I wrote last year about "Nickle and Dimed."
