Work day alert and gardening update--sort of
Here’s a big surprise: I’ve been so absorbed in my own garden in the past month, I’ve hardly have time to blog about it…and this is a blog about gardening.
I’ll try to do better in the future.
Just a quick reminder: Tomorrow, Saturday, June 6 is a work day at Rotary Botanical Gardens, 1455 Palmer Drive, Janesville.
“Our intent is to plant most of our pink and chartreuse theme around the main parking lot,” Horticultural director Mark Dwyer wrote in e-mail to volunteers. “Let’s meet at the main parking lot of the Parker Center and we’ll get planting right away.” The gardens will provide tools and kneeling pads, but volunteers might want to bring gloves and a rain jacket in case it starts to rain.
Doughnut break is at 10 a.m. Dwyer usually gives an inspirational speech.
Workdays are a great time to meet other gardeners and see what’s blooming. You also get into the gardens for free!

Oh, and the best part of volunteering for workdays at Rotary Gardens is sometimes you get to work with Cathy Idzerda!!!

Wish you had a garden? Seriously, volunteer at Rotary Gardens -- you can show up for work days or even have your own area to call your "own"!
