Phone calls vs. the weather
It’s one of those days where I’m pinned to the telephone, waiting for calls back and wishing I could be outside.
Of course, there’s a direct relationship between being at work/waiting for the phone to ring/irksome indoor duties and the weather. Right now, it’s perfect. By 5 p.m. we’ll have golf-ball-sized hail and no one will be able to putter in their garden.
This Saturday—when we hope the weather will be good—Rotary Botanical Gardens is hosting a work day from 8 until noon. It’s a crucial time of year for the gardens: Annuals need to go into the ground ASAP. If you can show up for part or all of the work day, they’d appreciate it.
Doughnut break is at 10 a.m., so plan accordingly.

By 5 p.m., we’ll have no hail and everyone will be able to putter in their garden.
Can't you forward your calls to your cellphone, and putter?
