Post office sale complete
The sale of the post office building, 16 S. First St, between Adevco and the city of Evansville is complete.
A press release I received today from Adevco:
"Roger Berg and Robert Petterson, the principals of Adevco LLC, announced that they have completed the sale of the post office building and premises to the city of Evansville.
The value of the property, certified by an independent appraiser, is $211,500. That they are donating the equivalent of $11,500 by reducing the purchase price to $200,000, is a substantial contribution to the city of Evansville to assist this very worthwhile project.
Roger Berg and Robbie Petterson feel that it is important to the future growth of the Evansville community that the Eager Free Public Library be expanded to serve the Evansville community.
Both Roger Berg and Robbie Petterson are life-long residents of the city of Evansville and have used and appreciated the Eager Free Public Library."

They like to think that every buck they have ever made in the city was a great selfless act. If you don't believe it just ask them, they would love to take the time to tell you about their selfless dedication to the city.

I had a car I was trying to sell, my neighbor said it was worth $20,000. The car was custom made for me, so it was only able to be used by a specific type of person. With the car market being slow and having a car that only a handful of people would ever want, I ended up selling the car for $15,000. Some people thought I lost out on $5000 of profit, I like to think I saved the new owner a significant amount of money.
It's always amusing how one can spin something to make themselves look philanthropic, by the process of negotiation, the price is usually reduced. I recommend that the profits from the sale of that building be put towards the myth called the " Westside Park ".
Everyone loves a little P.R., but come on.
