One group at Theodore Robinson misses AYP

Today the state Department of Public Instruction released its annual review of school progress. You can search for your school or district here.

Here's more from today's paper about AYP.

Evansville's Theodore Robinson Intermediate School didn't meet adequate yearly progress for the first time in reading among students with disabilities. Because there aren't enough special needs students in one grade level for the calculations, the designation is for students with disabilities in the school rather than a grade level, Superintendent Heidi Carvin said. District officials are trying to pinpoint where the issue is so they "can intervene and have the most positive impact," she said. She said the results aren't a surprise, and the district already has some strategies in place to hopefully get that segment of students off the list next year.
