While Memorial Day is known for a long weekend to get away, there's still things going on here. Here's a summary, courtesy of the chamber:

Tonight--Thursday, May 21st

--3rd Annual Artist Reception & Exhibit at Eager Free Public Library at 6:30 p.m. Meet local artists, enjoy great food at Monet’s table, and learn more about Theodore Robinson.

--Evansville Jays Baseball: Thursday, May 21–7:30 p.m. Monona at Evansville (Lake Leota Upper Diamond)

Friday, May 22

--Annual Downtown Clean-up! 11:30 a.m. –1:30 p.m. Adult volunteers meet outside library on First Street to join student teams. Bring work gloves.

Saturday, May 23

--Boy Scouts, American Legion Post #35, VFW Post #6905 will be placing American Flags on the Veteran’s Graves

--Hispanic Community Project 6th Community Fiesta from 2 to 4 p.m. at the High School Commons. Featuring food from all over Latin America for $2.50 a plate! Enjoy a Bolivian Dance Troupe performance, music and games.

Sunday, May 24

--Evansville Jays Baseball: 1 p.m. Albion at Evansville (HS Stan Sperry Field)

Monday, May 25

--GIBBS LAKE GALLOP at 8 a.m. For more infomation, call (608) 882-4159 or (608) 882-6775

--Memorial Day Parade: 10 a.m. starting at First & Main and ending at cemetery on Cemetery Rd. Ceremony will follow with guest speaker Lt. LaShell Lentz.

--VFW Rally in the Alley after ceremony until 6 p.m. at VFW. Brats & Pork Tenderloin, Live Music, silent auction and Evansville Chamber sponsored raffle with great prizes.
