Expected enrollment drop is reality
Last week, we reported the enrollment drop of 176 students in the Janesville School District.
In Evansville, enrollment did drop by 25 students, but the district was projecting a slight decrease, Superintendent Heidi Carvin said.
Here’s the official third Friday of the school year count:
--Levi Leonard Elementary School: 449
--Theodore Robinson Intermediate School: 436
--J.C. McKenna Middle School: 379
--Evansville High School: 542
Carvin said enough other budget factors turned out better than expected, so the enrollment drop isn’t causing a huge problem like other districts are facing.

Wait until the property tax "christmas card" arrives in the mail.
NONE of the realtors in town will have enough signs for the houses that will be put up for sale.....

I would consider the enrollment numbers reported so far a 'win" for the local districts and economy. Under the circumstances, i would have expected a much larger decrease.
