Hats off to the grads

By GINA DUWE ( Contact )   Monday, June 7, 2010 - 3:49 p.m.

Sunday was a whirlwind of high school graduations for us at the Gazette. We covered five graduations throughout Rock and Walworth counties, including Evansville's.

I just wanted to point out the wonderful photos that our photographer Bill Olmsted took at EHS. You can view the gallery here. You can see photo galleries from several other schools here, and they'll be more to come this week.

A big congrats to all the 130 grads in Evansville. Covering multiple graduations each spring can get old, but there's always a new twist at each one. A couple things I noticed at Evansville's that I haven't seen in awhile at others were the hat toss at the end and having a fellow grad read each student's names.

What do you remember most from your graduation?

The class president has been reading the names of the graduates for a very long time at EHS. It is just one of the traditions at Evansville. I hope the school will continue the class of 2010 and have the graduates enter alphabetically. This is the way the kids came into kindgergarten and it is a great way to go out.
