Baraboo police take dad into custody after baby twins found dead
BARABOO, Wis. (AP) - A Baraboo man is in police custody after officers found his infant twins dead in their home.
Police say they went to the man's home about 8 p.m. Sunday to check on him and his two 5-week-old twins. They say no one initially responded, so officers entered the home.
They found the 45-year-old man in bed.
Then officers searched the home and found the dead babies.
Baraboo police are continuing to investigate the babies' deaths. Their father has been taken into custody on a probation hold.

There's more info in the late WSJ story, but not a whole lot more answers (e.g. who called in the welfare check). But there was a history of domestic abuse.

The paper is probably just reporting what Baraboo police have released. Be patient. Just think, 10 years ago we would've had to wait until tomorrow for this information.

And who tipped off officers that they needed to check on him and the babies?? There's some missing information to THIS story!
