Earthquake update
MILWAUKEE (AP) — A strong earthquake in southeast Illinois was felt up to 450 miles away early Friday, including in southeastern Wisconsin.
National Weather Service meteorologist Steve Davis says his office received calls from sheriff’s departments in Rock, Dane and Kenosha counties looking for information about what happened.
Diane Strozyk, 65, lives in apartment in downtown Milwaukee near the lakefront. Strozyk says she was sleeping and woke up when the tremor hit about 4:37 a.m.
“I felt the shaking for like 20 seconds. I thought I was dreaming. It was like somebody was shaking the bed,” she said.
Initially pegged as a 5.4 earthquake, the U.S. Geological Survey revised its estimate to give it a value of 5.2.
The quake was centered six miles from West Salem, Ill., and 66 miles from Evansville, Ind.
Trembling was also felt in Chicago, Cincinnati and Des Moines, Iowa.

1919- I love watching those shows too - but remember Y2K. There have always been this many quakes; it's just that we have better technology to record all of them. Watch out for those alarmists and enjoy life.

Anybody see the special on Discovery or History channel about the year 2012??? Anyone starting to worry now?? It seems that earthquakes have been happening with greater frequency in the last 35 years or so. Just this week I seen on the news that there have been over 600 quakes off the coast of Oregon in the last few months and no scientist has ever seen that before. Maybe the crust is starting to seperate from the mantle and we are about to experience a global pole shift. Google "global pole shift" and check it out!!!!

I felt my bed shaking slightly and wondered if my dog was moving around on the bed. When I realized my dog wasn't on the bed I looked at the clock and it read 4:39. I suspected it might have been an earthquake as I felt the one a few years back although this event seemed stronger.

I got up at 4:15am and was doing my normal routine so I really don't know the exact time this happened. I was standing at the stove when I started hearing this tinkling sound. I thought it was a wind chime, but realized no one around here has a wind chime. I turned around, and could tell it was coming from the other side of the room. OK, at this point I had goosebumps. Through the kitchen, across the dining room, ONE row of wine glasses was swaying back and forth! There's 5 rows and only the center one was moving. I stuck my head out the patio door to see if there was a train or large truck somewhere. Nothing. I stood and watched them move for a bit then seperated them so they weren't touching. It completly creeped me out! (too many horror flicks?) :)

I woke up around 4:40 this morning to a tapping noise coming from an item on a single shelf in my bedroom. Nothing else in the house was moving. I had NO idea what was causing it... It continued for about 10 seconds and stopped. I thought it wierd, and went back to bed, only to get to work this morning and hear of the earthquake. I live in Powers Lake, WI. CRAZY!

Being from California it was so normal for me to feel an earthquake in the middle of the night. I woke up at around 3:30 this morning because of the earthquake.
