Mail delivery suspended in Olde Towne Mall
JANESVILLE The U.S. Postal Service has suspended mail delivery into the Olde Towne Mall, 20 S. Main St., until further notice.
Postmaster Michael A. Baldocchi delivered a letter Thursday afternoon informing the mall’s 14 tenants and Jackie Wood, co-owner, of the decision.
“I’m just trying to keep everyone safe,’’ Baldocchi said.
The downtown postal service center in the Olde Towne Mall was temporarily closed last week after postal workers got sick and while officials awaited results of air quality tests.
On Aug. 14, air samples were taken by Pillar To Post Professional Home Inspections in three different areas—in front of the post office, near the front of the first floor and in the central second-floor area—of the mall and sent to Pro Lab in Weston, Fla., to be analyzed for the presence of airborne mold spores.
“The samples were tested for multiple strains of mold spores, and only one strain of mold showed elevated levels,’’ Rob Kleinschmidt of the inspection company, wrote in a letter to Wood dated Aug. 19.
“The strain showing elevated levels is penecillium/aspergillus…This strain is considered a common indoor mold. It has a musty odor,’’ he wrote.
The test results are being reviewed by the postal service’s safety and health department in Milwaukee, and until the report is finalized, the downtown postal service center will remain closed, Baldocchi said.

"Neither rain nor snow, nor sleet nor dark of night shall stay these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds".
If you are going to quote, at least get it right.

All they have to do is dowse the whole area of the basement with bleach and scrub A bit on areas that have changed colors (Blue or Black) run A fan to the outside for A couple of hours and you will test clean again and have not spent the 4 to 5 thousand dollars to have it done by the city Same thing as them wanting to replace your sidewalk for WAY MORE than even your highest bid was! Back to the original question,or as it is our story~ Any places that got wet during the flood, you will need to soak with that bleach and rinse REAL WELL afterwords as your mail man or (person) the strands that showed up are common outdoor molds and some inside mildews so WOW this is somewhat of A surprise in their decision to STOP ALL MAIL to that adress! Through SLEAT, SNOW, OR RAIN, WE GET THE MAIL TO YOU! Sometime today or maybe tomorrow don,t worry if I don't getter done today I,ll deliever you A LETTER AS TO WHERE YOUR LETTER IS NOW! Sorry about the bends and folds on your mail, OOOPS!

Any bets on the closing being permanent? It would save the Post Office money on duplicating services for a dwindling customer base.
