SOUTH WAYNE -- Two men have been arrested for allegedly vandalizing and robbing a southwestern Wisconsin police department.

The Lafayette County Sheriff's Office said Saturday the men are being held on tentative charges of burglary and possession of stolen property.

Sheriff Scott Pedley says the suspects targeted the police department in the Village of South Wayne.

The men, ages 20 and 18, allegedly forced their way into the building and caused unspecified damage to the inside of the department. Pedley says the pair also took a police firearm and handheld police radio, which have been recovered.

The burglary was discovered Wednesday about 7:30 a.m.

The investigation will be referred to the Lafayette County district attorney.

And then there was Jimmy Two Times, who got that nickname because he said everything twice, like:
"I'm gonna go get the papers, get the papers."

Well, this is Wisconsin. They held a referendum to add a deadbolt lock to the door, and you know what happened.

michellemt640, haha yeah. I saw that episode. You'd think police stations would be the first to understand the importance of security!

What I'd love to know is why there was no alarm system on the building? Of all places you might think some protection would be it would be a police station. I mean hell, they got away with firearms! What if those had been used in the commission of a crime? How embarrassing would that be for the police department?
