Winter wallop on the way
MILWAUKEE (AP) — A major winter storm headed for Wisconsin could dump more than a foot of snow in some areas by Tuesday night.
Heavy snow is expected in central, northern, western and eastern Wisconsin beginning Monday night and ending Tuesday night. Mixed precipitation, changing to all snow later is likely for southeast Wisconsin where 3 to 6 inches of snow could fall.
The National Weather Service predicted up to 14 inches of snow in the Fox Valley and Kewaunee and Manitowoc counties.
Increasing north winds are expected to bring considerable blowing and drifting Tuesday.

belis & WISsped: also possible you may have asthma...your initial infection may have been a trigger... Cough can be the wheeze you experience. Other triggers can be exercise or weather (low pressure systems). Asthma is not only induced by allergies & one may develop asthma in adulthood (I'm assuming by the timing of your previous posts that you are not school-age children)
take care!

I think it's comical how freaked out people get over winter. Like it's the first time we've seen snow or have ever driven in it. I like driving in it. It's a challenge. And fun in a truck!

That's kind of what I was wondering. It snows in the midwest.

I just wish people would either slow down or go around instead of getting right up on your rear trying to get you to drive faster. A lot of people have had accidents already and are more cautious and some are just plain being safe with their kids in the car or whatnot so BACK OFF. Why try and show off that you can drive an extra 5 miles an hour faster in dangerous conditions? Or leave earlier so you aren't running late all the time.

Spark - Yes, it will be nice to know SOME people will finally be making a buck or two this season.
Now we just have to avoid all those "Poker Run" snowmobilers:)

WiSpedTeacher, Yes, sounds about the same. I can't stop coughing. Sometimes I cough so hard I get sick or I'll get dizzy. I've had 4 kids so coughing causes some other "issues" as well...lol. Have had a few chest pains and palpitations in the center of my chest and I'm waiting for the pneumonia to show up. I've had it before and it's starting to remind me of how I felt back then. And no, I don't smoke. I'm sick of being sick :(

Snow = snowblowers = gas and repair + snowmobiles = gas and repair and travel and lodging/etc. + ski hills, etc, etc. All of this is money spent in our crap economy which God knows, we need. It is Wisconsin after all.

FYI - Driving slow and safe and cautious doesn't guarantee that you will stay out of the ditch or out of harms way. It will raise your safety level slightly but sometimes you are just SOL when it comes to driving in bad weather. Sometimes all you can do is buckle up, and hope for the best...

It's funny you mention that your Tahoe will be pulling people out of the ditch progressive6, because when I drive the interstate to work in the winter, the far majority of vehicles in the ditch are 4 wheel drive vehicles NOT small cars. One day there were so many cars in the ditch, I started counting them after I saw about 3 in a mile stretch (Hey...I've got to entetain myself somehow on those days that it takes mroe than an hour to get to work). That day 3/4 of the cars in the ditch were trucks and SUVs. Moral of my little story --- drive safe, no matter what kind of vehicle you have. Driving safe is better than 4 wheel drive on any given day.
