Fog, flooding possible tonight & Saturday
SULLIVAN–The National Weather Service has declared a flash flood watch for Friday night through Saturday evening for much of southern Wisconsin.
Also, a dense fog advisory is in effect until 6 p.m. Saturday.
Heavy rain and melting snow “will likely lead to some flooding problems,” the NWS reports.
“Urban and river flooding problems are possible … if storm drains and rivers clog with snow and ice and prevent proper drainage," according to the forecast. "… Ice jams, although difficult to predict, could also occur and create flooding problems. …
“A flash flood watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding. Flash Flooding is a very dangerous situation. You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should flash-flood warnings be issued.”
Fog is expected to thicken gradually today with visibilities dropping to less than one-quarter mile.
“If driving, slow down. Use your headlights and leave plenty of distance ahead of you,” NWS advises.

It was extremely foggy out! We were out very late and it just got worse. Although I am happy for the warm weather, just wish it didn't melt the snow so fast. I was just wondering if anyone knows, we were driving down Parker Dr. last night right by the old Parker Pen/Arrow Park. And all the street lights went out. ALL OF THEM. I know sometimes one or two will go out. But the whole street until we got to Memorial Bridge was out. Just curious.

REMEMBER...daytime running lights DO NOT TURN ON THE TAILLIGHTS.. When it's foggy, turn on the headlights, so the tail lights are also "ON". Otherwise someone will come up behind you & suddenly "there you are". No tail lights in the fog is dangerous..

So true SarahB... We ran up the road to Stagecoach Inn for our regular Friday night fish fry. The fog was so bad - I felt disoriented, as to where we were. We had to cross the Hwy 26/Cty N death trap intersection. With dense fog.. it was all I could do to keep my fingernails from putting a hole in the armrests!

I would caution anyone wanting to drive anywhere tonight, especially out of town. It is extremely foggy. I just returned to Janesville from Beloit and couldn't see more than 20 feet in front of my car at times. If you must go out, please take caution.

Well for all of you that dont know the differance fog lights are yellow. white or blue ones are called aux. driving lights. it might say fog on the switch but that is because it was cheaper for the manufacture to call them all fog lights.just FYI. also if properly adjusted they work great but improperly adjusted they will blind the hell out of other traffic. so if you must use them all the time LEARN how to adjust them.

I've found my fog light on several times now. I think I bump it accidentally. Sorry.

I agree!!! I don't think drivers REALLY REALIZE how hard that is on the eyes. Hey, and the same goes for those blue headlights, too. Great comment/suggestion, Mark707!

For all of you Bozo's out there who drive with your fog lights on ALL of the time...this is your weekend!
But, will you please turn them OFF once the fog clears later this weekend?
Your fog lights are very irritating and are way too bright when you are driving against traffic at night.
They do not make you cool, just obnoxious.
This is especially true of pickup trucks... you are blinding oncoming drivers. Turn off your "EGO LIGHTS".
