South Korea woman killed near Edgerton
A South Korea woman died overnight after a one-vehicle accident on Interstate 90/39 near Edgerton.
Myungja Ahn, 67, Seoul, South Korea, was partially ejected from the vehicle after the driver, El Kim, 41, Rochester, Minn., lost control of the vehicle while driving north near the 160 mile marker in Dane County, according to a news release from the Wisconsin State Patrol. The vehicle rolled several times, the release said.
Kim and three other passengers were transported to Edgerton Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Ahn was pronounced dead at the scene by the Dane County coroner.
Ahn was not wearing a seatbelt. Kim and two of the three other passengers were. Alcohol is not suspected as a factor in the accident, the news release said.

How do you ..in your know it all attitude... know that she didn't unbuckle her seatbelt only to possibly try to buckle up the other child that was not buckled in at the time of the accident?...(Ahn was not wearing a seatbelt. Kim and TWO of the THREE other passengers were)(meaning ONE was NOT)

She was FROM South Korea visiting family here. The Gazette always mentions where a person is from when something tragic like this happens. I don't think it was an ethnicity thing.

Yes, it doesn't matter what the race and ethnicity is. It shouldn't even be broght up as to where a person is from unless it is a need to know thing. That was my point, I was not directing my earlier comment at anyone, I was just making a plain observation of the American society as a whole.

I see certain individuals on these logs that are constantly looking for any comment that they can twist into insensitivity or low racial tolerance. They then use this construct to proclaim their moral superiority and proceed to spew hatred. This is a sick and vicious game of demonization.

It's unfortunate that this poor woman had to die and that her family now has to grieve for her. My point was that if she had thought about her safety like the others had maybe she would be alive and be able to grow old with her loved ones. But, no. I'm the bad guy for suggesting that she (or all of us) take some RESPOSIBILITY and try NOT to get killed so as to spare our families the pain of mourning for us. No joke...just fact. It sounds like an awkward headline to me as well, garyprimer. South Korean sounds better, but I'm not the journalist.
I don't believe anyone was making light of this. Just a comment on what seems to be a lack of proofing some articles get. I don't believe anyone attacked this lady or her family.
Thoughts go out to them....it's hard no matter where you're from.

What is wrong with some of you? I comment on a possible mistake in a headline and you wish that I would die in a horrible car accident? You are demonstrating disturbing behavior. Seriously, if an innocent comment sets you off so violently, you need to seek professional help.

I believe garyprimer was commenting on copyediting, not ethnicity (it's odd headlinese but not strictly wrong, and I'd prefer "South Korean woman" myself).

Is just proves there is a great amount of ignorance in Wisconsin and the USA. How unfortunate that people feel they must be unconcerned with those around them, regardless of race or ethnicity.
I just pray that those that find themselves displaying and expressing their ignorance find peace and learn more of the similarities and differences.
I mean, this is the melting pot, is it not?
