It's what they care about first and foremost, and morphs into their wool-over-the-eyes mantra. Of course, when they were in control of everything, it was only a start and got even worse from there. Have you seen any of Michael Moore's work? Or busy like them, preemptively pre-propagandizing yourself away from even observing it? Self censoring is a key ingredient for totalitarianism, whether military juntas, religious fanatics, or oligarchic domination.

I think that there is more to come here folks. I guarantee these two are smart enough to involve our local representatives. I also guarantee this will become a bi-partisan effort for the good of Janesville. Kudos to these guys for stepping up.

If Tim has this kind of time on his hands, I would like to see him run some training classes for high school students.

A union guy and a school board leader are going to lead the GM response? Okay I get having a union leader as a member of that squad, but why isn't Russ Feingold or Paul Ryan working on this? I got an idea for Doyle - lower corporate taxes like Tommy did to make Wisconsin business friendly. Then Janesville could lower property taxes. Works for Nevada.

Think about all the defense contracts GM lobbies for, tax codes, tax breaks, training dollars, etc, etc.

The House Ways and Means Committee and the US Senate Judiciary Committee could put some pressure on GM in ways that may never make the newspaper.

It took Beloit a very long time to recover from it's loss of Beloit Corp. And many would argue they're still recovering... but they're in a much better place than just ten years ago.

If we can learn from Beloit... maybe wecan temper the damage GM does when they close the doors.

I'm not sure what hammer Doyle could hold over GM. Far better if he'd look in the mirror and honestly answer the question, "What could I do to make businesses want to locate here and then stay here."

After all, these are the politicians who can hold a hammer over GM in DC and Madison...what in good gravy can the Local 95 president do that he has not already tried? What can a long-gone state senator promise or trade??

I guess they have to try something. The effort will be fruitless, but at least they will feel better about themselves.
